About the Role

We are looking for a visionary, values-driven Principal to lead The Shishya School into its next phase of growth.

The Principal is the academic and administrative head of the school — the bridge between management, faculty, students, and parents — and will be instrumental in upholding and advancing our mission of holistic, future-ready education. Key Responsibilities

Academic Leadership

- Oversee CBSE curriculum delivery and ensure full board compliance
- Champion the school's three-tier curriculum: core, supplementary, and value-added programmes
- Drive academic excellence through data-informed decision making and best pedagogical practices




- Lead implementation of NEP 2020 goals and 21st-century skills frameworks
- Maintain a culture of higher-order thinking — analysis, synthesis, and evaluation — over rote learning

Faculty Development

- Recruit, mentor, evaluate, and retain high-quality educators
- Design and lead structured career development programmes
- Foster a collaborative, innovative teaching culture aligned with the school's differentiated learning philosophy
- Conduct regular classroom observations and constructive feedback sessions

Administration & Operations

- Serve as Head of Office with full oversight of academic and administrative functions
- Manage examinations, timetabling, CBSE reporting, and statutory compliance
- Oversee all school facilities: library, computer labs, music room, theatre & drama spaces, and sports infrastructure
- Act as ex-officio Member Secretary of the School Management Committee
- Manage school budgets, vendor relationships, and campus resources in coordination with the Trust

Student Development & Wellbeing

- Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating workplace where every student feels valued
- Champion holistic development — academic, physical, artistic, and social
- Oversee student welfare, discipline, and health & safety protocols
- Represent the school at CBSE, inter-school events (including flagship events like Tirangaa), and community engagements

Parent & Community Engagement

- Build strong, transparent partnerships with parents through orientation programmes, progress communications, and open dialogue
- Represent the school's values and vision to prospective families, the community, and institutional partners

Strategic Vision

- Contribute to the school's long-term growth and improvement plan in partnership with the Trust




- Introduce EdTech integrations and modern campus management practices
- Build the school's reputation as Pathankot's premier educational institution

What We Are Looking For

Qualifications

- PhD in Education or a related field (preferred)
- Solid executive presence and authority
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- High level of maturity, judgment, and emotional intelligence
- Ability to enforce standards without compromising relationships
- A mindset of ownership and accountability for outcomes

Experience

- 8–15+ years in K–12 education
- Prior experience as:
- Principal / Vice Principal
- Academic Head / School Leader
- Bachelor’s + Master’s degree (Education preferred; B.Ed/M.Ed advantageous)
- Strong understanding of curriculum frameworks (CBSE/ICSE/IGCSE or equivalent)

Skills & Competencies

- Deep knowledge of CBSE curriculum, policies, and board examination processes
- Familiarity with NEP 2020 and contemporary education frameworks
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Proficiency in campus management software and Microsoft Office
- Ability to inspire and unify a diverse team of educators and staff
