Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role for an IB Library Teacher, based in Chandigarh.
The Library Teacher will collaboratively plan and deliver a resource-based learning program that integrates information literacy, digital citizenship, and research skills into the IB curriculum.
Roles and Responsibilities Develop and deliver a library curriculum that fosters a love for reading and inquiry-based learning. Teach Approaches to Learning (AtL) skills, specifically focusing on research, critical thinking, and self-management. Partner with coordinators to ensure the library collection supports the diverse linguistic and cultural needs of the student body.
Curate and manage a diverse collection of print and digital resources, aligned with IB principles. Oversee daily library operations, including cataloging, circulation, and budget management. Deliver engaging storytelling and 'read-aloud' sessions to foster a lifelong love of reading. Organize the collection to be accessible to young children (e.g., front-facing picture books, genre-based 'neighborhoods'). Maintain versatile zones for quiet reading, collaborative group work, and 'maker' activities that spark curiosity.
Qualifications Proficiency in Lesson Planning and delivering well-structured academic resources Robust foundation in Education and Teaching methodologies with experience in IB curriculum preferred Excellent Communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with students and faculty Experience in Training and guiding students and staff in educational and library functions Passion for fostering a love for books and research in school students Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education, Library Science, or a related field
