Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and analytical Assistant Manager – Purchase to anchor procurement operations, vendor development, and purchase planning at our Head Office in Surat. Given our vertically integrated model — which includes in-house LED driver manufacturing — this role sits at the heart of our supply chain, sourcing raw LED chips, electronic components, mechanical assemblies, and packaging materials, while coordinating internally for driver supply.

The ideal candidate will bring deep knowledge of LED and electronics procurement, robust command over MRP-driven planning, and a sharp eye for cost optimisation — all while ensuring zero disruption to our manufacturing lines in Surat and Mumbai.

Core Responsibilities

1. Purchase Planning & Material Control





→ Drive procurement planning for LED chips, PCBs, SMD components, heat sinks, lenses, housings, and packaging materials based on production schedules

→ Coordinate with in-house driver manufacturing team to plan internal supply of LED drivers aligned with production requirements

→ Ensure uninterrupted material supply to manufacturing units in Surat and Mumbai from the HO

→ Maintain optimum inventory levels — buffer stock for critical components, no dead stock for slow-moving items

→ Align purchase plans with monthly, quarterly, and annual production targets across product lines (architectural, outdoor, residential)

2. Vendor Development & Management

→ Build and manage a robust vendor base for LED-specific electronic, optical, and mechanical components

→ Develop new supplier relationships to reduce single-source dependency and sharpen pricing competitiveness

→ Conduct price negotiations, rate contracts, and structured cost benchmarking

→ Evaluate vendor performance on quality, delivery, responsiveness, and cost — drive corrective actions where needed

→ Manage import procurement coordination, including liaison with freight forwarders and customs agents for overseas component sourcing

3. Costing & Data Analysis

→ Maintain advanced Excel-based MIS, purchase dashboards, and cost trend reports for management review

→ Track price movements for key inputs (LED chips, PCBs, SMD components, aluminium extrusions, optics) and flag risks early

→ Identify and implement cost reduction opportunities without compromising quality or lead times

→ Support product costing exercises for new launches across architectural, outdoor, and residential ranges

4. Procurement Operations

→ Manage the full procurement cycle end-to-end: indents, RFQs, vendor comparison, PO issuance, and delivery follow-up





→ Coordinate material despatch from HO to manufacturing units in Surat and Mumbai as required

→ Work closely with Production, Quality, Stores, and Accounts teams to resolve material and invoice issues

→ Manage urgent procurement requirements effectively without disrupting cost discipline

5. Compliance & Process Excellence

→ Maintain audit-ready purchase records and documentation in line with statutory and company requirements

→ Ensure all procured materials meet quality standards and product specifications — coordinate with QC for incoming inspection

→ Improve procurement SOPs, vendor onboarding processes, and approval workflows

→ Uphold ethical procurement standards and company policies across all supplier interactions

Key Requirements

→ 5–10 years of procurement experience in a manufacturing company; LED, electronics, or electrical industry strongly preferred

→ Strong understanding of BOM structures, MRP logic, and production-linked purchase planning

→ Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and ERP systems (Tally ERP, SAP, or equivalent)

→ Proven track record in cost negotiation, vendor development, and contract management

→ Familiarity with import procurement processes and international supplier management

→ High data orientation — comfortable building and presenting purchase MIS and cost reports

→ Strong cross-functional coordination and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

→ B.E. / B.Tech (Electrical / Electronics / Mechanical) or B.Com / MBA with a procurement specialisation
