Job Description
About the Role
The Identity Access Management Manager will work with the Chief Control Office in the UK to manage the investigation, analysis and evaluation of security risk across IP&I.; This is delivered through a range of activities including:
- Application Management support for IP&I; application owners
- Access Management activities for IP&I; applications and Unstructured Data repositories
- Maintaining a clear and detailed inventory of application security data and processes
- Security Risk and Change Management
- Security Operations and Monitoring across a range of security processes and controls
- Security Culture and Educational activity across the Division
- Governance & Relationship Management (including influencing Group stakeholders in Chief Security Office (CSO), Group Chief Operating Office (GCOO) and Chief Information Office (CIO)
- Lead, drive and support the Operational Risk Capital process for IP&I;
These role objectives will be achieved through leading and managing specialist sub-teams in the areas noted above. The role will also include stakeholder management / engagement and utilising detailed technical knowledge of their respective policy subject matter. The role will also require deputisation for the Senior Manager as and when required in addition to being empowered to lead in their area of responsibility.
Specifically, the role holder will be responsible for supporting IP&I; with managing security and application risks for the IP&I; Business by operating, implementing and assessing a range of Security processes and controls.
Key Responsibilities
- Acts as a source of professional expertise to evaluate, review, investigate, challenge and mitigate the potential for security risk across the IP&I; Business.
- Lead and manage a specialist sub-team in assigned area of responsibility.
- Lead regular relationship management with key business stakeholders. This will include regular relationship/service review meetings (e.g. for Application and Access Management) or dealing with senior stakeholders on security risks.
- Establish and build relationships with stakeholders to support the provision of quality and timely information and analysis to inform business decisions and optimise business results.
- Manage the implementation of short, medium and long-term plans in the context of risk remediation strategic programmes, taking into account the risk appetite, governance and regulatory requirements.
- Positively influence others by demonstrating core values and behaviours.
- Production of reports/papers and MI as and when required for local, business unit or Group meetings as and when required.
- Provide insightful information, guidance and advice to influence business decisions which enables business area to gain a full understanding of the implications linked to their decisions.
- Implements processes to review and monitor security policy compliance across IP&I; and ensure completion of all key policy requirements and controls.
- Review control effectiveness ratings (either through self-assessment or testing) and perform root cause analysis as required. This includes raising/updating any material risks, new or systematic issues and unfair policies, and oversee the completion of reporting to key stakeholders.
- Identify solutions and ways forward by producing robust action plans, and demonstrates a ‘can-do’ approach at all times, providing appropriate support to our internal colleagues.
- Advises IP&I; of the implications of best practice to ensure Group policy, legal, regulatory and skilled compliance,
utilising Group stakeholder network.
- Supports assigned change programmes to achieve continuous improvement to IP&I; colleague capability, processes and IT systems.
- Supporting the build of an overall high performing team. This includes line managing and develops colleagues through stretching objectives, feedback and coaching, whilst demonstrating and embedding Group Values.
WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, in the office. Although the role will generally work to IST, the nature of the services provided to IP&I; means that the successful candidate may be required to work outside of IST on occasion.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience of working in Identity & Access Management / Security roles with a good understanding of policies and supporting standards.
- A technology focussed approach with a strong focus on innovation to enable more control automation and continuous improvement.
- Stakeholder management experience with excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to influence colleagues at all levels.
- Excellent attention to detail in all written communications/documentation.
- Organisational skills with the ability to plan and prioritise own workload, and that of the team, driven by competing priorities.
- Experience of managing and coaching junior members of the team.
Desirable Attributes
- Control testing experience would be useful along with knowledge of working in a Cloud environment such as Google Cloud.
- Industry Experience: A background in Financial Services and/or Insurance, is highly advantageous.
- Experience in designing and deploying low-code applications using Power Apps to streamline workflows and improve operational efficiency.
- Process Transformation: Demonstrated experience in transforming legacy processes through automation, modern tooling, or data-driven approaches to improve efficiency and insight.
- Agile Ways of Working: Familiarity with agile delivery environments, including working within cross-functional teams to deliver iterative improvements and respond to evolving business needs.
