JOB DESCRIPTION

Grade 2 Teacher – CBSE School

Position Overview

The Grade 2 Teacher is responsible for delivering quality education and creating a positive, engaging, and child-friendly learning workplace in accordance with CBSE curriculum guidelines. The teacher will focus on strengthening foundational academic concepts, communication skills, creativity, discipline, and overall personality development of students.

The role includes lesson planning, classroom management, student assessment, activity-based learning, and regular coordination with parents and school management to support the holistic growth of each child.

Key Responsibilities

1. Teaching & Academic Responsibilities

- Plan and deliver lessons as per CBSE curriculum and school academic standards.
- Teach primary subjects including:
- English
- Mathematics
- Environmental Studies (EVS)
- General Knowledge
- Moral Science
- Conduct interactive and activity-based learning sessions.
- Use creative teaching methods, storytelling, worksheets, visual aids, and smart classroom tools to improve understanding.
- Develop students’ reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension skills.
- Encourage curiosity, participation, and independent learning among students.
- Maintain daily lesson plans and teaching schedules.

2. Classroom Management

- Maintain a safe, disciplined, and positive classroom environment.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively with patience and positivity.
- Encourage teamwork, confidence, creativity, and good values among students.
- Ensure proper classroom cleanliness, seating arrangement, and display boards.
- Monitor student attendance and punctuality.

3. Student Assessment & Development

- Conduct regular assessments through:
- Classwork
- Homework
- Oral activities
- Worksheets
- Projects




- Unit tests and examinations
- Evaluate and monitor student academic performance and behavioral development.
- Identify slow learners and provide additional academic support.
- Encourage communication skills, social interaction, and emotional development.
- Maintain updated progress records and report cards of students.

4. Parent Communication & Coordination

- Communicate regularly with parents regarding academic performance, behavior, and overall development of students.
- Attend Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs) and provide constructive feedback.
- Address parent concerns professionally and maintain positive parent relationships.
- Coordinate with coordinators, counselors, and management when required.

5. School Activities & Participation

- Participate in school functions, celebrations, assemblies, competitions, and extracurricular activities.
- Assist in organizing educational activities, classroom events, and student engagement programs.
- Support school initiatives and maintain active participation in school development activities.

6. Documentation & Record Management

- Maintain proper academic and classroom documentation including:
- Attendance records
- Lesson plans
- Assessment records
- Homework records
- Student portfolios
- Progress reports
- Ensure proper filing and maintenance of records in:
- Hard Copy Files
- Soft Copy / Digital Formats
- Prepare worksheets, assignments, question papers,



and report cards within timelines.

7. Professional Conduct & Development

- Follow CBSE guidelines, school policies, and academic standards.
- Maintain professionalism, punctuality, discipline, and ethical conduct.
- Participate in teacher training sessions, workshops, and professional development programs.
- Continuously improve teaching methodologies and classroom practices.

- Strong understanding of CBSE primary curriculum.
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
- Child-friendly, patient, and caring approach.
- Creativity in teaching and activity planning.
- Strong interpersonal and coordination abilities.

Qualifications

Education

- Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline – Mandatory
- D.El.Ed / B.Ed – Preferred or Mandatory as per school policy

Experience

- Minimum 1–3 years of teaching experience in a CBSE or reputed school preferred.
- Freshers with excellent communication and teaching abilities may also apply.

Preferred Skills

- Computer literacy and smart classroom handling.
- Knowledge of child psychology and primary teaching methods.
- Strong English communication skills.

Additional Information

- Candidate should be enthusiastic, caring, and passionate about teaching young children.
- Preference will be given to candidates with CBSE school experience.
- Ability to create a joyful and engaging learning atmosphere is essential.
- Strong focus on student development and classroom discipline is expected.

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹26,000.00 per month
