Position: Pump Testing Engineer

Department: Quality / Testing / R&D;

Location: ALFAPUMPS

Reports To: Testing Manager / Quality Head

Position Summary

ALFAPUMPS is seeking a detail-oriented and technically competent Pump Testing Engineer to plan, execute, document, and monitor pump testing activities for production orders and new product developments. The role involves conducting performance and hydrostatic testing, ensuring compliance with approved specifications, maintaining test records, and supporting product validation for customer orders and R&D; projects.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

Testing Planning & Coordination

- Schedule and prioritize pump testing work orders in line with production and delivery requirements.
- Coordinate with Production, Quality, Design, and Planning teams for timely availability of pumps for testing.
- Ensure all testing activities are completed as per project schedules and customer requirements.

Pre-Test Verification

- Review and verify Pump Data Sheets before testing.
- Check pump specifications, ratings, materials, and operating parameters against approved documents.
- Verify critical pump dimensions and assembly details as per approved GAD (General Arrangement Drawing).

Pump Testing

- Conduct and monitor Pump Performance Tests, including:
- Flow vs. Head
- Flow vs. Power
- Flow vs. Pump Efficiency
- Analyze test results and ensure compliance with design and contractual requirements.
- Identify deviations and coordinate corrective actions where necessary.

Hydrostatic & Special Testing





- Perform Hydrostatic Pressure Tests as per applicable standards and customer specifications.
- Conduct additional tests as defined in the Quality Assurance Plan (QAP) and customer purchase orders.
- Ensure testing procedures comply with applicable industry standards and internal quality requirements.

Documentation & Reporting

- Prepare complete pump test dossiers and test reports.
- Maintain accurate testing records, calibration references, and inspection documentation.
- Ensure all test data is traceable and properly archived.

Data Management

- Upload and maintain pump testing data in OEM-UP (MRP System).
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of digital records and test documentation.
- Generate test summaries and reports for internal and customer review.

R&D; and New Product Validation

- Conduct testing and validation of newly developed pumps and prototypes.
- Support R&D; activities through performance evaluation, data collection, and analysis.
- Provide technical feedback for product improvements and design optimization.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in pump testing, quality assurance, manufacturing,



or related engineering functions.
- Fresh candidates with strong technical knowledge of pumps may also be considered.

Technical Skills

- Knowledge of centrifugal pumps, pump performance curves, and hydraulic testing.
- Understanding of hydrostatic testing procedures and quality inspection practices.
- Ability to read and interpret Pump Data Sheets, GADs, and technical drawings.
- Familiarity with QAP requirements and testing standards.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems and test data management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and technical reporting.
