Role Summary
· Develop CNC programs (3-, 4-, and 5-axis) for aerospace precision components using approved CAM software.
· Create optimized toolpaths, select cutting tools, and define machining parameters to meet quality and cycle-time targets.
· Support green-field factory setup by helping establish machining standards, tool libraries, CAM templates, and basic programming workflows.
· Work closely with UK engineering teams to ensure smooth work transfer, alignment of machining methods, and adoption of best practices.
· Run program simulations, verify collision checks, and support first-time-right machining validation.
· Collaborate with manufacturing engineering and shop-floor teams to troubleshoot machining issues and stabilize processes.
· Drive continuous improvement in machining efficiency, cycle time, tool life, and scrap reduction.
· Prepare setup sheets, tooling lists, and clear programming documentation for shop-floor execution.
· Support NPI and transferred parts by developing programs, validating processes, and ensuring manufacturability.
· Ensure all machining programs comply with aerospace quality standards, GD&T;, and customer specifications.
Job Description
1. Develop and maintain 3D models and 2D drawings using Siemens NX CAD for aerospace
components and assemblies.
2.
Create detailed manufacturing drawings that comply with GD&T; (ASME Y14.5) and
customer specifications.
3. Design high-accuracy aerospace structures, machined parts, tooling, and fixtures.
4. Generate CNC toolpaths using Siemens NX CAM for multi axis machining (3-axis, 4-axis,
and 5-axis).
5. Optimize machining strategies to improve cycle time, tool life, and surface quality.
6. Perform machining simulations and collision checks to ensure secure and efficient
manufacturing.
7. Support DFM/DFA activities by collaborating with manufacturing and process engineering
teams.
8. Prepare and validate postprocessed NC programs for production release.
9. Maintain revision control and configuration management of CAD/CAM data.
10. Support First Article Inspection (FAI) by providing CAD/CAM data and manufacturing
insights.
11. Troubleshoot machining and manufacturing issues by modifying designs or CAM
strategies.
12. Ensure compliance with aerospace standards such as AS9100, AS9102, and customer
requirements.
13. Develop and standardize CAD/CAM best practices, templates, and modelling standards.
14. Coordinate with tooling, quality, and shopfloor teams to support production.
15. Drive continuous improvement in CAD/CAM processes, automation, and productivity.
KPI’s
- 100% on-time delivery of CNC programs
- On-time support for NPI / transferred parts: ≥ 95%, Tool-life improvement, Cycle-time
improvement target.
