Key Responsibilities

1. Perform comprehensive eye examinations and vision assessments.
2. Measure visual acuity, refractive errors, and binocular vision.
3. Prescribe and recommend appropriate spectacles, contact lenses, and vision aids.
4. Conduct diagnostic tests including refraction, tonometry, color vision, and visual field assessments.
5. Identify signs of eye diseases and refer patients to Ophthalmologists when necessary.
6. Assist Ophthalmologists during specialized eye examinations and procedures.
7. Educate patients regarding eye health, vision care, and proper use of corrective lenses.
8. Maintain accurate patient records and examination reports.
9. Operate and maintain ophthalmic diagnostic equipment.
10. Ensure compliance with hospital policies, quality standards, and infection control protocols.
11. Participate in vision screening camps and community outreach programs.
12. Coordinate with optical services for dispensing spectacles and contact lenses.

Qualifications

- Bachelor of Optometry (B.Optom)



or equivalent qualification.
- Registration with the relevant professional council as applicable.
- Freshers or experienced candidates may apply.

Skills Required

- Strong knowledge of optometric procedures and eye care.
- Excellent patient assessment and communication skills.
- Proficiency in using ophthalmic diagnostic equipment.
- Ability to maintain accurate documentation and records.
- Good interpersonal and counseling skills.
- Team-oriented approach and professional ethics.

Experience

- 2-5 years of experience in a hospital, eye clinic, or optical center preferred.

Working Conditions

- Hospital/clinic-based work workplace.
- May participate in vision screening camps and outreach activities.
