Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Azure Cloud Operations & Data Platform Engineer with 6–10 years of experience in Azure cloud operations, database administration, security remediation, and data platform implementation. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Azure infrastructure, SQL Server administration (IaaS and on-premises), vulnerability remediation, CI/CD pipeline implementation, cloud migration, and contemporary data governance frameworks. This role requires strong stakeholder management, project coordination, and the ability to independently manage deliverables while collaborating with cross-functional and global teams, including U.S.-based stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities Azure Cloud & Infrastructure Operations - Manage and support Azure cloud infrastructure for enterprise data and database workloads.

- Administer and maintain SQL Server environments hosted on Azure IaaS and on-premises infrastructure.
- Perform SQL Server patching, upgrades, maintenance, and lifecycle management across development, test, and production environments.
- Monitor system performance, availability, security posture, and operational reliability.
- Implement operational best practices for cloud infrastructure, backups, disaster recovery, and performance optimization.
- Plan and execute SQL Server patching activities in Azure IaaS and on-premises environments.
- Coordinate maintenance windows and stakeholder communications to ensure smooth patching and minimal business disruption.
- Perform SQL Server version upgrades and remediation activities aligned with organizational standards.
- Lead and support migration initiatives from on-premises SQL Server environments to Azure cloud platforms.
- Ensure post-migration validation, performance tuning, and operational readiness.

Security

Governance & Vulnerability Management - Manage vulnerability remediation activities using modern security and vulnerability management tools.

- Analyze vulnerability scan findings and align remediation efforts with enterprise security policies.
- Coordinate with infrastructure, security, and application teams to remediate security risks and ensure compliance.




- Support security hardening, patch compliance, and risk mitigation initiatives across data platforms and cloud environments.
- Support implementation and operationalization of data governance initiatives.
- Work with modern data platforms including Lakehouse architecture and metadata governance frameworks.
- Implement and manage data governance tools such as Unity Catalog and Purview.
- Contribute to enterprise data cataloging, governance, lineage, classification, and compliance initiatives.
- Collaborate with data engineering and architecture teams to establish governance standards. CI/CD & Data Platform Engineering - Design and implement CI/CD pipelines for data engineering and data management projects.
- Automate deployment processes for database, ETL, and data platform components.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to implement DevOps best practices for cloud and data solutions.
- Support release management, deployment automation, and operational governance. Stakeholder & Project Coordination - Coordinate with business, infrastructure, security, and application stakeholders for smooth project execution.
- Drive planning, tracking, and execution of patching, migration, and remediation activities.
- Manage priorities, risks, dependencies, and timelines across multiple initiatives.
- Provide status reporting, documentation, and operational updates to leadership and stakeholders. Team Collaboration & Leadership - Work effectively as an individual contributor while supporting distributed/global teams, including U.S.-based teams.
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to operational excellence initiatives.
- Demonstrate strong ownership, accountability, and problem-solving capabilities.





Required Skills & Qualifications Technical Skills - 6–10 years of experience in Azure Cloud Operations, SQL Server Administration, or Data Platform Operations.

- Strong experience with Microsoft Azure cloud services and Azure infrastructure operations.
- Hands-on experience in SQL Server patching, upgrades, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
- Experience managing SQL Server in both Azure IaaS and on-premises environments.
- Strong experience in migration of SQL Server workloads from on-premises to Azure cloud.
- Experience with vulnerability management and remediation using modern security tools.
- Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines for data engineering or database projects.
- Knowledge of DevOps practices and deployment automation.
- Experience with data governance and metadata management platforms including:
- Microsoft Purview
- Unity Catalog
- Knowledge of Lakehouse architecture and enterprise data governance practices.
- Experience working with data engineering ecosystems and cloud data platforms.

Preferred Qualifications - Experience with Azure DevOps, Git-based deployment models, or Infrastructure as Code (IaC).

- Familiarity with enterprise security standards, vulnerability remediation workflows, and compliance requirements.
- Exposure to modern data platforms such as Fabric, Azure Databricks and lakehouse implementations.
- Azure or SQL Server certifications are preferred. Soft Skills - Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Excellent coordination skills for patching, migration, and production activities.

Experience - 6–10 years of relevant experience in Azure cloud operations, database administration, or enterprise data platform operations.

Education - Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related discipline.
