As a Condition Monitoring Advisor in the Large Engine Digital Insights team, you will work closely with service engineering and design/performance engineering staff. The position will have primary responsibilities for performing condition monitoring from the IoT and other data collected from engines in the field. These duties include monitoring data for anomalies, working with data scientists, SMEs and creating actionable recommendations.
This will involve utilizing engine domain expertise and data analysis tools. This role requires strong communication skills and the ability to handle multiple projects together.
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Monitoring diesel/gas engines for anomalies and providing actionable recommendations
- Document engine anomalies, actions taken and customer value
- Work with data scientists to create algorithms & data visualization solutions
- Report issues identified from the data to engineering and service engineers
- Follow-up on action closure status and update in the repository
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Engineering degree,
with 2-5 years of progressive experience in the product support and/or engineering (engine performance/design/simulation) fields.
- Strong customer service/contact experience, communication, interpersonal and organizational skills are critical to succeeding in this position.
- Demonstrated experience with engine maintenance/repair or engine performance calibration and condition monitoring techniques
- Background in statistics/data analysis (1D/2D histograms, event finding, confidence intervals etc)
- Python/SQL exposure (data processing scripts)
- Signal processing (filtering techniques, moving averages, trap conditions)
TOP CANDIDATES WILL ALSO HAVE :
- Master s degree in IC engines/ Thermal engineering
- Experience in engine/aftertreatment performance calibration and/or testing
- Possess the ability to work in team environment and work with diverse groups of business partners
- Working knowledge of CI & SI engines/engine systems
- Excellent organizational skills to manage many data sources
- Robust communication skills: both verbal and written; ability to quickly create presentations for internal and external customers
- An initiative and ability to resolve issues either individually or through appropriate team guidance is desired
Additional Information:
- This position can be located in Bangalore.
- This role will require 5-day-a-week in office presence.
