Designation: Assistant Professor – Master of Computer Applications (MCA)

Preferred Educational Qualification

Master of Computer Applications (MCA) / M.Tech. (Computer Science/Information Technology) with a consistently good academic record. Ph.D. in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline is desirable as per UGC/AICTE norms.

Experience

Minimum 2–8 years of teaching, academic, research, or industry experience in Computer Applications, Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Development, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Cyber Security, Cloud Computing, or related domains.

Role Summary

The Assistant Professor – MCA will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching, mentoring students, contributing to curriculum development, and promoting research, innovation, and industry engagement within the Master of Computer Applications program. The role requires a solid academic foundation, practical industry orientation, and the ability to integrate emerging technologies into teaching and learning processes. The faculty member will actively contribute to academic excellence, student development, research initiatives, and institutional growth.

Roles and Responsibilities

- Deliver lectures, tutorials, practical sessions, and laboratory courses for MCA students in accordance with the prescribed curriculum.
- Develop and update course content to align with current industry trends, emerging technologies, and academic standards.
- Mentor and guide students in academic projects, internships, research activities, hackathons, and career development.
- Facilitate experiential learning through case studies, industry projects, coding exercises, workshops, and technical competitions.
- Integrate modern technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Analytics, Cloud Computing, Cyber Security, and Full Stack Development into teaching practices.




- Conduct student assessments, evaluations, examinations, and academic reviews while maintaining transparency and academic integrity.
- Contribute to curriculum design, academic planning, accreditation processes, and quality assurance initiatives.
- Engage in research, publications, consultancy, funded projects, patents, and knowledge creation activities.
- Collaborate with industry partners to strengthen industry-academia interaction, internships, guest lectures, and placement opportunities.
- Participate in departmental, institutional, and university-level committees, events, and academic activities.
- Support admissions, student engagement, faculty development, outreach programs, and institutional branding initiatives.
- Maintain accurate academic records, course documentation, and compliance with university and regulatory requirements.

Key Skills & Competencies:

- Strong knowledge of programming languages such as Python, Java, C++, JavaScript, or related technologies.
- Sound understanding of Computer Science fundamentals, Data Structures, Algorithms, Database Management Systems, Operating Systems, and Software Engineering.
- Expertise in emerging domains such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, Cyber Security, Cloud Computing, IoT, or Full Stack Development.
- Effective teaching, presentation, communication, and mentoring skills.
- Ability to design outcome-based learning experiences and industry-relevant academic content.
- Research aptitude with demonstrated interest in publications, innovation, patents, or funded projects.
- Proficiency in Learning Management Systems (LMS), digital learning platforms, and educational technologies.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management abilities.
- Commitment to academic excellence, professional ethics, and continuous learning.
- Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, students, industry professionals, and academic stakeholders.
