Position Overview:
The Senior Accountant in Audit plays a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of financial records and reporting within the organization. This role involves participating in audit engagements, managing audit teams, analyzing financial data, and providing recommendations to improve internal controls and financial processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Audit Engagement:
Plan, execute, and lead audit engagements to assess financial statements and internal controls for accuracy and compliance.
Coordinate with audit teams, including junior staff and external auditors, to ensure the smooth execution of audit procedures.
Conduct risk assessments to identify potential issues and areas requiring special attention during the audit process.
Supervise and mentor junior audit staff, providing guidance and support throughout audit engagements.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, legal, and operations, to gather information and address audit-related matters.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance,
or related field; CPA qualification is highly preferred.
Several years of progressive experience in auditing, preferably with experience in a public accounting firm.
Solid knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and relevant auditing standards.
Proficiency in using auditing software, financial analysis tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively and communicate findings to various stakeholders.
Leadership qualities and the ability to manage and mentor junior team members.
