We are looking for Manager or Senior Manager - Product Design & Development ( Electromechanical) wiring devices with good exposure in NPD. This opportunity for a reputed MNC Organization based at Daman Location.

Objective:

The primary responsibility of the Sr. Manager is to provide strategic, technical and leadership direction to the Product Design & Development (Wiring Devices) function. The role is accountable for end-to-end new product development, technology roadmap, value engineering, cost competitiveness, and sustained enhancement of the product portfolio aligned with business strategy, market needs, and regulatory requirements.

Principal Responsibility

1. Product Strategy & Design Leadership

- Overall ownership of design, development and execution of current wiring device and related electromechanical products.
- Define and drive product roadmap in alignment with business goals, market trends, customer requirements and competitive benchmarking.
- Provide strategic technical inputs to conceptualize new products, platforms and modular architectures to enable scalability and faster time-to-market.
- Study domestic & international competitive landscape; perform benchmarking and teardown studies to identify opportunities for differentiation, value addition and cost optimization.
- Collaborate closely with Marketing, Sales and Product Planning teams to translate VOC (Voice of Customer) into robust product design specifications.
- Drive value engineering, cost reduction, standardization and localization initiatives without compromising quality, safety and performance.
- Ensure selection of appropriate design concepts, materials,



manufacturing processes and core technologies for new and existing products.

2. Product Development, Validation & Compliance

- Ensure adherence to structured New Product Development (NPD) processes and stage-gate reviews.
- Approve product specifications, design reviews, DFMEA/PFMEA, reliability studies and validation plans.
- Guide and supervise prototype development, performance validation, life testing and certification activities.
- Ensure complete compliance with applicable BIS, IEC, ISO and internal quality standards for wiring devices.
- Provide governance and technical decision-making support during pilot production, production trials and product industrialization.

3. Cross-Functional & Stakeholder Management

- Lead and mentor cross-functional teams (Design, Quality, Tooling, Manufacturing, SCM, Marketing, Finance) to ensure seamless execution from concept to mass production.
- Interface with suppliers, toolmakers, testing laboratories and certification agencies for component development, tooling, testing and approvals.
- Review and approve technical documentation, cost sheets, BOMs and product release documents.
- Enable smooth handover of products to manufacturing, quality and supply chain teams.

4. Technology, Innovation & Process Excellence

- Drive innovation culture by promoting new concepts, materials, processes, and sustainable design practices.
- Identify and deploy new design tools, simulation techniques and digital engineering practices.
- Continuously improve development processes, design reviews, risk analysis and documentation systems.
- Establish best practices in design governance, project management and knowledge management.
