Company Description The Rajbari Bawali is a 300-year-old boutique heritage property, restored as a luxury heritage resort near Kolkata is expanding with its first city based Cafe at Shakespeare Sarani.
Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Food Server/Captain role based at The Calcuttawala Cafe, at Shakespeare Sarani, Kolkata. The Food Server/Captain will welcome guests, present menus, take orders accurately, and ensure timely service of food and beverages in line with the property’s heritage standards. The role involves coordinating with the kitchen and bar teams, overseeing table setups, managing reservations and seating, and ensuring cleanliness and organization of the dining areas. The Food Server/Captain will handle guest queries, address concerns promptly, and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction. The role may also include supervising junior service staff, supporting special events or banquets, and following all hygiene, safety, and quality protocols.
Qualifications




Solid Customer Service and Communication skills to interact effectively with guests and team members.
Hands-on experience in Food & Beverage and Food Service operations, including serving, order-taking, and table management.
Basic Cooking knowledge to understand menus, ingredients, and preparation methods for better guest guidance.
Previous experience in hospitality, preferably in fine dining, heritage resorts, or boutique hotels.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as per operational needs.
Attention to detail, professional grooming, and a courteous, guest-focused attitude.
Familiarity with food safety, hygiene standards, and basic POS or billing systems is an advantage.
Relevant hospitality or hotel management training or certification is preferred.
