Associate Creative Director (Copy)
Can you look at a business and find the one thing worth saying about it?
Can you tell the difference between an idea and a format?
Can you reject work — including your own — when it’s average and explain exactly why?
If yes, keep reading.
We’re looking for an Associate Creative Director (Copy) — a writer who grew into directing and now owns what DigiCrackers says and how well it says it.
This is not a content writer role. This is not a coordinator role. This is not a senior designer or video editor role — we have those seats, and this isn’t one. This seat is for someone who came up through copy and developed taste across everything else.
One thing to be clear about: in bigger agencies, this seat comes in pairs — ACD (Copy) and ACD (Art). Here, there is no pair. You direct both sides; designers and editors make, you decide what’s good enough to ship. You will spend most of your week reviewing, rejecting, and raising other people’s work, not producing your own.
What you’ll own:
• The creative bar — every campaign, social calendar, website, film, and ad creative is reviewed by you before it reaches the founder or the client.
• Creative across every surface — social media, websites and landing pages, performance ad creatives (concepts, hooks, copy, visuals), brand campaigns, and video; if it carries the client’s brand, its quality is yours.
• Content direction — content pillars for every retainer client, set quarterly, so calendars are built on ideas instead of blank pages.
• Ideation rhythm — monthly ideation sessions per client, run with the account and design team.
• Campaign thinking — big ideas for pitches and flagship projects, from insight to line to execution plan.
• Hands-on craft — you write when the work needs it, and direct design and edits well enough to raise them.
• The team’s growth — you mentor the copy and design team by giving specific, teachable feedback.
• Reputation work — spec campaigns and AI films, built with the founder to get DigiCrackers noticed nationally.
Much of our client work is real estate, manufacturing, and other high-consideration brands — businesses where trust decides the sale. Our job is making that trust engaging, and we treat it as a serious creative challenge.
You are a good fit if:
You grew up as a copywriter — words are your home craft.
You have taste beyond your craft: you can look at a design or an edit and know what’s wrong, even if you can’t make it yourself. You’ve run creative reviews — actually held approve/reject, not just given feedback. You write well enough to demonstrate, not just comment. You understand Gujarati and Hindi cultural rhythm, not just English advertising. You get restless when work is merely fine.
You are not a good fit if:
You want to spend your days in Figma or Premiere. You need a detailed brief to have an idea. Your portfolio is aesthetics without thinking. You avoid conflict about quality.
Experience:
5–9 years in an agency, brand team, or content studio — a copywriter who grew into campaign thinking, with at least 2 years reviewing and directing other people’s work (including design and video, not just copy). Title matters less than whether you’ve actually held a bar.
