Overview

To provide BAU accounting and administrative support to the financial accounting team, and to assist in ensuring month end and reporting requirements of MPMS Group EMEA entities are completed according to the set timetable.

The successful individual will need to be able to work well across borders, within the broader India and UK teams and have a focus on process improvement.

Key Accountabilities and main responsibilities

Strategic Focus

- Support the Manager BP&A; Service Excellence, ensuring costs are well understood to ensure they are appropriately recognised.
- Able to look at ways to improve the efficiency of the process from both a booking perspective and appropriate use of accounts to support easy ledger based analysis.
- Able to report monthly results and provide business partners with valuable analysis and insights.
- Able to adapt when processes change

Operational Management

- Responsible for monthly booking of actuals.
- Ensure adherence to monthly reporting timelines.
- Prepare the analysis and reporting of actuals for the Manager BP&A; Service Excellence.
- Ensure different teams and cost types are understood and booked to the correct accounts.
- Maintain and ensure compliance with JSOX.
- Ensure process are improved and automated wherever possible.
- Ensure processes are adapted when teams change and cost types change or upstream processes are changed.
- Contribute to the broader Financial Control MUGF UK responsibilities (i.e. JSOX and reconciliations).
- Input of Purchase Orders as requested by UK Finance or Business teams
- Reconciliation of VAT accounts and support provided to UK and VAT team
- Reconciliation of accounts payable 3581 reports
- Assisting with resolving related audit queries on the statutory Financial Statements
- Reconciliation of intercompany invoicing accounts
- Reconciliation of asset GL accounts and WIP schedules
- Ensure fixed assets correctly categorised and depreciation postings made properly

- Ensure full adherence to legal and regulatory requirements and the good conduct of the businesses, maintaining ongoing compliance and upholding the reputation of MUFG Retirement Solutions.
- Achievement of business objectives and the maintenance of ongoing regulatory compliance.

Experience & Personal Attributes

Experience

- Proven 2 to 5 years’ experience in financial accounting, preferably within a multinational or shared services environment supporting EMEA entities.
- Hands-on experience with month-end close, including booking of actuals, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
- Strong experience in balance sheet reconciliations, including VAT, intercompany, fixed assets, and accounts payable.
- Exposure to JSOX / SOX controls, internal controls, and audit support.
- Experience working with cross-border teams (e.g., UK and India) and managing multiple stakeholders.
- Comfortable working with ERP systems (e.g., SAP/Oracle) and advanced Excel-based analysis.
- Experience identifying and implementing process improvements and automation in finance operations.
