Applications Management Software Engineer

Job Summary:
We are seeking an Engineering enthusiast who is passionate about solving business problems through innovation and engineering practices. This role requires a candidate with in-depth knowledge and expertise applicable to all aspects of the software development lifecycle. You will partner continuously with multiple stakeholders to stay focused on common goals. As part of this dynamic role, you will work closely with business units and other IT teams to deliver leading-edge technology that enables the digital capabilities of Prudential Singapore.

Responsibilities:
Analyze business needs to design, build, and deliver solutions that meet business objectives for Customer Point-of-Sales or servicing solutions.
Lead the technical implementation of projects to ensure your team delivers high-quality work on time.
Support your team in working more effectively by breaking down and coordinating work, identifying areas of conflicting work, and securing necessary support.
Work independently on large features and bugs to help your team deliver high-quality work on time.
Ensure technical excellence and platform delivery in accordance with the companys Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and relevant IT policies and procedures.
Be responsible for KPIs of the platform, including maintenance and support.
Build and deploy comprehensive and flexible full-stack solutions.
Collaborate with key business stakeholders to understand business requirements and deliver the platform technology roadmap.
Build relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
Translate business requirements into well-architected solutions.




Participate in and facilitate technical discussions with the team and other stakeholders related to platform projects.
Evolve platform-related technical standards and processes.
Implement data integration, migration, and deployment in line with platform requirements.

Mandatory Skills:
Full-stack development experience.
Minimum 7 years of experience in design, development, and support of large web-based systems, with complete software product lifecycle exposure.
At least 3 years of experience in cross-platform app development.
Proficiency in server-side programming with Java, Servlet, and JSP (mandatory).
Strong understanding of environment management, release management, code versioning best practices, and deployment methodologies.
Experience in Software Testing (Unit Test, TDD, BDD).
Comfortable with Agile methodologies (Scrum).
Strong background in the design and development of large web-based systems.

Preferred Skills:
Expertise in life insurance system development projects.
Experience with:
o Web Applications technologies (Java Server Pages (JSP), Servlet, JS)
o Java 17+ and frameworks (Spring, Spring Boot)
o SQL and RDBMS
o Build tools (Maven)
o Cloud platforms (Azure, AKS)
o RESTful APIs and Microservices development (GraphQL, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Express, etc.).

Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent/higher.

Language:
Fluent written and spoken English.
