Middle Office Data Engineering and Quality Temporary Candidate 1
We are seeking a strategic, data-driven Middle Office Data Engineering and Quality – Professional to lead the build and evolve a best-in-class Data Quality and Engineering function in India.
This role sits within the Public Markets Middle Office and is pivotal to ensuring data accuracy, transparency, and operational readiness across the firm's transaction lifecycle in support of MSIM clients, investment teams and traders, and other essential uses of this data. The successful candidate will be an innovative data science professional, who will develop quality control checks and insights to mitigate data quality issues, identify anomalies in data for research, and continuously improve upon the process to expand across a complex data set. This position will partner closely with the Middle Office functional teams to establish and evolve the cross-platform data quality framework and controls for transaction lifecycle data to support efficient trade processing.
In the Operations division, we partner with business units across the Firm to support financial transactions, devise and implement effective controls and develop client relationships. This is a Team Supervisor position at Director level within the within Core Services, which is responsible for performing and managing product-agnostic and centralized operational services across several businesses and products

What you'll do in the role:
- Own and operationalize the Data Quality Framework for cross-platform transaction lifecycle data, ensuring strong governance, control coverage, and alignment with enterprise data strategy.
- Design and deliver MI reporting and KPI dashboards (Power BI) to provide actionable insights on data health, operational performance, and key risk indicators to senior stakeholders.
- Develop and implement scalable data quality controls across the transaction lifecycle, ensuring completeness, accuracy, timeliness, and consistency of data.
- Establish robust data validation and exception monitoring processes, enabling proactive identification, tracking, and resolution of data quality issues.
- Lead cross-platform alignment for integrated controls and monitoring, working closely with Middle Office, Technology, and Data Governance teams to ensure consistency in data outcomes.
- Drive deep-dive analysis and root cause investigation of data exceptions, enabling scalable remediation, issue prevention, and structured escalation.
- Partner with stakeholders to define business requirements and use cases, translating them into data-driven reporting solutions, dashboards, and automated control frameworks.
- Build and optimize reporting and analytics layers using Power BI, SQL, and supporting tools to enhance transparency, decision-making, and operational efficiency.
- Support change management, UAT, and implementation activities for data and reporting initiatives, ensuring seamless adoption and minimal operational disruption.
- Deliver high-impact reporting outputs, including KPI dashboards, trend analysis, and exception reporting to senior management and data governance forums.
- Ensure high-quality data outcomes for clients, investment teams, and downstream consumers, reinforcing trust in Middle Office data and enabling effective trade lifecycle management.
What you'll bring to the role:
- 6–8 years of experience in Investment Operations, Data Management, or Middle Office data & analytics within a global asset manager or financial services firm.
- Strong proficiency in Power BI (dashboard design & development) with ability to deliver impactful MI reporting, KPI tracking, and data visualization (certification preferred).
- Hands-on experience with SQL and Alteryx Designer for data transformation, workflow automation, and advanced analytics.
- Strong understanding of data quality principles, including accuracy, completeness, consistency, and timeliness, with hands-on experience in implementing these across complex datasets.
- Proven expertise in data validation, data cleansing, and data governance frameworks, ensuring high-quality and reliable data for downstream consumption.
- Solid understanding of the investment and trade lifecycle, including cross-platform data sets such as reference data, trades, prices, corporate actions, accruals, and amortization.
- Experience working across diverse asset classes (equities, fixed income, derivatives, loans) and investment structures (pooled vehicles, SMAs, institutional mandates).
- Experience with data quality and exception management platforms (e.g., PanDQ, Informatica, PEGA), including real-time validation, monitoring, and issue handling.
- Solid analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to perform root cause analysis, data lineage tracing, and exception trend analysis.
- Demonstrated ability to translate complex data into actionable insights, supporting KPI reporting, operational optimization, and decision-making.
- Exposure to data-driven platforms, automation, and APIs, with ability to build scalable reporting and control solutions.
- Familiarity with AI / advanced analytics concepts, including process automation, anomaly detection, and intelligent data handling.
- Experience supporting change management, UAT, and implementation activities, ensuring successful delivery and adoption of data initiatives.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to work across business, operations, and technology teams to drive data quality outcomes.
