We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Platform Power & Thermal Validation Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for validating platform-level power and thermal behavior on cutting-edge SoC platforms, developing test automation frameworks, and driving quality through systematic debugging and analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and execute embedded software test plans for platform power and thermal validation on SoC-based platforms
- Validate thermal management behavior including thermal throttling, mitigation policies, and sensor accuracy
- Perform platform power testing including active power, idle power states (e.g., DRIPS/SLPM), and power rail validation
- Develop and maintain Python-based automation scripts to streamline test execution,
log collection, and result analysis
- Leverage AI/ML tools and techniques to assist in automated triage, anomaly detection, and test result analysis
- Perform low-level JTAG debugging using tools like Lauterbach T32 to analyze hardware/software interactions and failures
- Analyze test results, identify root causes, and work closely with software and hardware teams to resolve issues
- Understand CPU architecture and microarchitecture concepts to correlate power/thermal behavior with system activity
- Document test cases, test results, bug reports, and validation summaries
