Job Roles and Responsibilities (General Duties):
- Perform routine, portable, and urgent EEG studies.
- Assist with evoked potentials (EP) and long-term video EEG monitoring (LTM/EMU).
- Prepare patients: explain procedure, apply electrodes, ensure proper impedances.
- Monitor patient status and ensure safety and comfort during tests.
- Recognize and document abnormal activity or artifacts.
- Accurately record, label, and store neurodiagnostic data.
- Maintain equipment, troubleshoot technical issues, and follow infection-control protocols.
- Communicate effectively with neurologists, nurses, and other staff.
- Participate in on-call, weekend, or emergency EEG rotations as needed.
Required knowledge, skills and abilities of staff:
- Understanding of EEG principles, brain wave patterns, and artifact identification.
- Knowledge of neuroanatomy, neurophysiology,
and common neurological disorders.Role & responsibilities
- Familiarity with evoked potentials (EP), long-term monitoring (LTM/EMU), and related procedures.
- Understanding of hospital safety, infection control, and patient care standards.
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology and clinical documentation.
- Valuable documentation skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to identify abnormal EEG events and report urgent findings appropriately.
- Strong time-management skills to handle STAT, inpatient, and outpatient workflows.
- Skilled in patient preparation, including electrode application, measuring, and impedance control.
