Job Summary

This position will prepare, and present detailed Process Piping discipline CAPEX estimates with EPC/EPCM approach for complex projects in our business lines like Oil, Gas, LNG, Chemicals, Semiconductors, Manufacturing, Datacentres, Combined Cycle, Carbon Capture, Mining, Nuclear, Motorways, and Large Infrastructure (like Airports, Water storage etc).

Responsible for developing all Class of estimates (FEED and Detailed), performs material and labor cost analysis, develops and updates historical databases, and enhances department procedures. Supports estimate reporting and reviews. Executes other simultaneous tasks within broadly defined parameters for estimating department.

Major Responsibilities

- Prepares CAPEX Process Piping discipline cost estimates for all class of estimates from FEED and Detailed (AACEI Class3 to Class2).
- Performs quantity take offs for a discipline or commodity specialty using defined documents. Collects, reconciles, and verifies data for summary comparisons.
- Skill in understanding mechanical equipment, technical processes, engineering drawings, leading to MTO/BOQ quantity determinations.
- Works with other disciplines and functions to collect all necessary data on scope and quantities to prepare an accurate estimate in specialty discipline areas.
- Produces cost estimates using crew-based approach including formation of crews from multiple crafts.




- Prepares estimate basis documentation capturing assumptions, rationale, scope inclusions and exclusions for specific contributions.
- Prepares estimate summaries and presentations for all reviews: like Project Reviews, Sr Management or Client Estimate reviews.
- Ensures that estimate is in line with market trends and pricing.
- Researches, develops and maintains costs, quantities, ratios and metrics of the historical cost databases pertaining to specific section. Understands the data and various sources of data. Extracts non-standard data and formulates the data into comparative summary format for analysis.
- Inputs cost data into the historical cost databases. Files completed estimates with all relevant back-up documentation yielding an easy-to-follow paper trail.
- Manages variations, trends, and changes to base estimate and ensures that implications of changes are evaluated before finalizing the solution.
- Assists in enhancements for estimating standards and procedures.

Education and Experience Requirements

- Bachelors Engineering degree and 10+ years of Industry experience with 3+ years on job site with exposure towards developing Process Piping cost estimates.




- Proficiency in any industry leading cost estimating software like Aspen, Candy, Heavy Bid, Timberline, Cleopatra, etc.
- Basic info of Stickbuilt vs Modular, Greenfield, and Brownfield Execution Scopes.
- Basic knowledge and experience with EPC estimating methods, processes, and procedures including the full range estimate classifications levels.
- Effective in utilizing metrics to provide valuable checks.
- Knowledge of Piping construction estimating methods and MOCs.
- Awareness of AI, Microsoft Power BI, Office, Excel Pivots is a must
- Excellent communication skills to connect with others in project team

Required Knowledge and Skills

- Bachelors Engineering degree with experience in latest estimating software.
- CAPEX EPC/EPCM estimating experience in any major streams like: Oil, Gas, LNG, Chemicals, Semiconductors, Manufacturing, Datacentres, Combined Cycle, Carbon Capture, Mining, Nuclear, Motorways, and Large Infrastructure (like Airports, Water storage etc).
- Familiar with commercial terms and conditions (contractor relationships, currency exchange, inflation, insurance, escalation, etc.) and with market pricing in area of specialization.
- Experience in parametric estimating techniques.
