We're looking for an Operations Associate to help execute and scale Alt Carbon's Biochar operations. This is a hands-on role that spans production sites, biomass supply chains, and field operations. You'll work closely with engineering, operations, and research teams to coordinate day-to-day execution across our growing network of biochar facilities. From managing feedstock movement to supporting plant operations and improving operational workflows, you'll play an important role in ensuring our projects run smoothly. The ideal candidate enjoys working on the ground, thrives in fast-moving environments, and isn't afraid to take ownership when plans change. This role requires regular travel to our project sites.

Responsibilities

- Own day-to-day operations
- Coordinate day-to-day activities across biochar production sites.
- Support planning and execution of production schedules and operational workflows.
- Ensure projects are executed safely, efficiently, and in line with operational timelines.
- Proactively identify and resolve day-to-day operational challenges.

- Coordinate biomass supply chains

- Work closely with local suppliers and logistics partners to coordinate biomass procurement and movement.
- Track feedstock availability, inventory, dispatches, and deliveries across multiple locations.
- Ensure timely movement of materials required for uninterrupted plant operations.
- Support inventory planning and warehouse management.

- Support plant operations

- Coordinate with plant operators and engineering teams to maintain smooth day-to-day operations.
- Monitor equipment uptime and escalate operational issues where required.
- Assist with production planning and operational reporting.




- Support implementation of quality and safety practices across sites.

- Manage stakeholder relationships

- Build strong relationships with vendors, contractors, transport partners, and local communities.
- Coordinate across multiple external stakeholders to ensure seamless execution.
- Act as a key operational point of contact between field teams and internal functions.

- Improve operational systems

- Maintain accurate operational records, production data, and documentation.
- Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and reduce bottlenecks.
- Help build scalable systems and processes as the Biochar programme expands.
- Support the rollout of recent operational workflows across projects.

- Work cross-functionally

- Collaborate with engineering, research, finance, procurement, and operations teams.
- Support pilot deployments, process improvements, and new site launches.
- Assist with operational reporting and performance tracking across projects.
