Job Description Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Avionics Quality Manager to join our team. The Avionics Quality Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of avionics quality management within our organization. This includes ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, implementing quality control measures, and maintaining high standards of safety and reliability in avionics systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Obtain necessary regulatory approvals (DGCA CAR 145, CEMILAC, CAR 21, EASA-21, FAA-21) within defined timelines.
- Develop and update MOE and other quality manuals as required.
- Ensure all operations comply with relevant aviation regulations (CAR 145/EASA 145/CEMILAC/DGCA-21/EASA-21).
- Keep Engineering and Business teams informed about new regulatory policies and mandates.
- Proactively secure STC approvals and validations, liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide operational support involving regulatory compliance matters.
- Conduct internal quality, safety, and regulatory compliance audits.
- Ensure tasks are performed in full compliance with regulatory requirements and quality standards.
- Expand existing approvals related to Component MRO and Design within specified timelines.
- Cultivate relationships with regulatory bodies and foreign manufacturers.
- Report deviations promptly and take corrective/preventive measures.
- Develop and implement quality and safety management systems in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Establish quality objectives, metrics, and performance indicators.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to assess compliance and identify areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure stores, logistics, and procurement adhere to quality and safety requirements.
- Perform Audit as ISM for the company under CAR/PART-21.
- Champion quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.
- Facilitate communication with foreign manufacturers and design organizations.
- Issuance of CA and assessment of certifying staff as per MOE
Regulatory Compliance
- Stay updated on relevant aviation regulations, standards, and best practices.
- Ensure that avionics operations adhere to all applicable regulatory requirements and certifications.
- Liaise with regulatory authorities and certification bodies to obtain necessary approvals and certifications for avionics systems.
Documentation and Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of avionics quality processes, including documentation of inspections, audits, and corrective actions.
- Prepare regular reports on quality performance, trends, and compliance status for management review.
- Ensure timely submission of required documentation and reports to regulatory authorities and customers wherever required.
Training and Development
- Develop and deliver training programs on quality procedures, standards,
and regulations for employees.
- Provide guidance and support to the company personnel to enhance their understanding of quality requirements and best practices.
- Encourage a culture of continuous improvement and quality awareness across the organization.
Supplier Quality Management
- Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to establish quality requirements for components and materials.
- Monitor supplier performance and conduct supplier audits to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Work closely with procurement teams to address quality issues and improve supplier quality management processes.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering or a related field. Or
- Academically Electronic Diploma/ AME, BAMEC- Avionics Holder must have cleared (Old System) Paper -1, Paper-2, Paper -3 (EIR) or (New System) Module-3,4,5,7,8,9,10,11,13,14.
- 8 to 10 years of experience in avionics quality Audit management within the aviation industry.
- Currently working as Post Holder CA Form 4 in Quality or CAMO organization which has CAR145 or CAR M approval.
- Alternatively, may be working as Technical officer in Quality or CAMO organization CAR145 or CAR M approval.
- In-depth knowledge of aviation regulations (e.g., DGCA, EASA, FAA) related to MRO-CAR/PART 145, Design-CAR/PART 21 and quality management standards (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100).
Preferred Skills
- Strong understanding of avionics systems, components, and maintenance processes.
- Proven experience in implementing and maintaining quality management systems and leading quality improvement initiatives.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across different levels of the organization.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Quality Auditor, Six Sigma) are a plus
