Position Summary

The Advisor, Diagnostics, will provide technical leadership to design, implement, and monitor strategies that strengthen diagnostic networks. They ensure that laboratory services are technically sound, meet international quality standards, and are integrated into national health systems. This position requires a highly motivated individual with robust skills in mentoring laboratory staff and conducting training for the national/state health workforce and the ability to liaise with the government departments.

Responsibilities

- Validation of Innovations: Lead field-level validation for new Point-of-Care (PoC) tests for infectious agents before large-scale rollout.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Serve as the technical point of contact for the National programmes and the regulatory authorities.



Act as the primary representative for WJCF in technical working groups and with donors.
- Training Mentorship: Remain updated on evolving diagnostic standards and lead the adoption of new technologies. Facilitate training for laboratory personnel and frontline health workers on diagnostic protocols and biosafety.
- Quality management: Lead initiatives to help laboratories achieve accreditation and enrol laboratory facilities in national EQA programs to ensure the accuracy of infectious disease testing.
