About the Role:
We have an exciting opportunity for haematology laboratory scientists to join our Hematology team at Canberra Health Services.
In this position,
you will have the prospect to work across the Haematology, Coagulation and Transfusion functions within the pathology team. As part of this team, you will interface with clinical wards within the transfusion unit, seeing the direct impact of your work when assisting with critical cases and routine transfusions. Under the supervision of the Senior Scientist, you will conduct analysis across all three functions, as well as participate in external quality assessment programs. Within transfusion testing, you will perform antibody screening and cross matching, and within coagulation you will perform routine coagulation procedures, and record results. You will have the opportunity to grow within this role with weekly Hematology educational groups on offer, and also having exposure to specialised bone marrow transplant and Immunophenotyping testing.
