Role Description

We're looking for a Business Development Manager whose main job is talking to people — specifically, founders and companies who've engaged with KaroStartup's content and shown inbound interest. You'll be the first real conversation they have with us: understanding their business, what they're looking for, and how KaroStartup can actually be useful to them — whether that's a founder story feature, a podcast appearance, or a broader partnership.

This role is relationship-first, not pitch-first. You're not cold-selling a fixed package — you're genuinely trying to understand each business and figure out the right fit, then setting up the meeting that takes it forward.

What You'll Do

Respond to and manage inbound leads — founders and companies who've engaged with KaroStartup's content across LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube, and Twitter/X

Have genuine discovery conversations with founders to understand their business, their story, and what they're hoping to get out of engaging with KaroStartup

Identify how KaroStartup can add value to each specific business — a feature, a podcast slot, a partnership — rather than pushing one standard offering

Set up and coordinate meetings between interested founders/companies and the KaroStartup team

Maintain a clean, organized pipeline of inbound leads — who's been contacted, where each conversation stands, and next steps

Represent KaroStartup's tone and values in every conversation — professional, genuinely curious, not salesy

Work closely with the content and outreach team to hand off qualified leads for story development or partnership execution

What We're Looking For

Solid verbal and written communication skills — you should be comfortable and confident talking to founders and business owners





Genuine curiosity about how different businesses work — you should enjoy learning what makes a company tick, not just closing a conversation

Prior experience in business development, partnerships, sales, or client-facing roles is a plus, but the right attitude matters more than years of experience

Good judgment on qualifying leads — knowing which conversations are worth prioritizing and which aren't

Comfortable managing a pipeline and following up consistently without things falling through the cracks

Based in Bengaluru or willing to work hybrid from Bengaluru
