Job Description: The Purchase Officer will manage end-to-end procurement of raw materials, industrial consumables, and molding spares. The ideal candidate ensures uninterrupted manufacturing operations, negotiates cost-effective deals, and controls inventory levels using SAP ERP systems. [1, 2, 3] Key Responsibilities 1. Procurement Operations (SAP) [1, 2]

- Execute end-to-end procure-to-pay (P2P) cycles—from Purchase Requisition (PR) to Purchase Order (PO) in SAP.
- Process Request for Quotations (RFQs), perform price comparisons, and prepare cost analyses.
- Track order status, manage delivery schedules, and resolve supply discrepancies or shipping errors. [1, 2, 3, 4]

2. Raw Material & Moulding Sourcing [1, 2]

- Procure critical items required for steel manufacturing, including molding materials, industrial spares, machinery parts, and consumables.
- Ensure the quality of purchased raw materials strictly aligns with plant manufacturing standards.
- Maintain optimal stock levels to prevent production line stoppages while avoiding overstocking. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]

3. Vendor Management & Negotiation

- Negotiate pricing, delivery timelines, and favorable payment terms with local and domestic suppliers.
- Evaluate vendor performance based on cost, quality, and on-time delivery.




- Develop recent vendors to reduce supply chain risks and achieve annual cost-saving targets. [1, 2, 3, 4]

4. Cross-functional Collaboration & Compliance [1]

- Work closely with the Production, Maintenance, and Finance teams to determine material requirements.
- Maintain accurate purchasing documentation and update the SAP database daily.
- Support the finance department in clearing supplier invoices and managing vendor outstanding balances. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]

Required Qualifications & Skills

- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical/Metallurgical Engineering or a related field (b.com. with Supply Chain Management certifications are also valued). [1, 2, 3]
- Experience: 2 to 3 years of proven experience in industrial procurement, specifically within a heavy engineering, metal casting, or steel manufacturing environment. [1, 2, 3]
- Software Skills: Strong, hands-on working knowledge of SAP MM (Materials Management) and MS Office (especially Excel for cost analysis). [1, 2, 3]
- Core Competencies: Excellent negotiation abilities, vendor evaluation skills, and a solid understanding of inventory control. [1, 2, 3, 4]
