AVP / DVP – Zonal Lead (Alternative Funds Business Development)

Role Overview
We are looking for a seasoned business development professional from the asset management or fund administration industry with deep expertise in Alternative Investment Funds (AIFs) to lead business growth across North, West India and GIFT City .
This is a high-impact, revenue-owning leadership role responsible for defining and executing the go-to-market strategy, driving AIF client acquisition, and scaling the Alternatives business for KFintech. The role requires strong domain expertise across AIF structures, regulations, and operating models, combined with the ability to influence CXO-level stakeholders and lead cross-functional execution.

Key Responsibilities
1. Revenue Ownership & Growth Strategy
Own and deliver zonal revenue targets for AIF and alternative solutions across North, West, and GIFT City
Define and execute the zonal growth strategy , including market prioritization, client segmentation, and product positioning
Build a robust, high-quality pipeline aligned to strategic growth objectives and revenue targets
Identify and scale opportunities across AIFs, PMS, fund administration, platform solutions, digital and SAAS solutions

2. Enterprise Sales Leadership
Lead end-to-end deal lifecycle for complex, high-value opportunities:
Origination and pipeline creation
CXO-level client engagement and need diagnosis
Solution structuring and value articulation
Commercial negotiation and deal closure
Drive strategic deals with fund managers, asset management firms, and institutional clients
Establish KFintech clear leadership in the alternatives fund administration ecosystem

3. Market Development & Ecosystem Building
Build and leverage relationships across AIF’s
Fund managers, sponsors, distributors, family offices, advisors




Legal, compliance, and advisory firms
Custodians, Trustees and Merchant Bankers
Identify emerging trends (e.g., GIFT City structures, new regulations, investor flows) and translate them into new business opportunities
Represent the organization in industry forums, conferences, and strategic client interactions

4. Client Leadership & Expansion
Maintain & strengthen existing client relationships with key and strategic clients
Drive account mining and cross-sell/up-sell opportunities across the existing client base
Ensure long-term client retention and revenue growth through value-added solutions

5. Team Leadership & Capability Building
Lead, mentor, and scale the zonal business development team
Drive performance management, target achievement, and capability development
Institutionalize best practices in sales governance, pipeline hygiene, and CRM discipline
Foster a high-performance, collaborative, and market-oriented culture

6. Cross-Functional Leadership
Partner closely with product, operations, compliance, legal, finance and technology teams
Ensure seamless client onboarding and delivery
Shape product evolution based on market feedback
Deliver differentiated client solutions and customer delight
Drive alignment between sales strategy and execution capabilities

7. Governance, Analytics & Reporting
Own and lead pipeline visibility, forecasting accuracy, and revenue tracking
Leverage data,



market intelligence, and competitor insights to refine strategy
Drive disciplined reporting on conversion metrics, deal cycles, and business performance

Experience & Domain Expertise
10–12+ years of relevant experience in business development, sales, or client solutions within:
Asset Management / Wealth Management
Alternative Investments (AIFs, PMS)
Fund Administration / Capital Markets
Strong track record of closing complex deals and managing high-value client relationships
Demonstrated experience in leading teams and owning revenue targets
Deep Domain Expertise in AIF Ecosystem
End-to-end understanding of:
Fund setup, structuring, and fundraising
Investor onboarding and lifecycle management
Fund operations, reporting, and compliance
Strong knowledge of:
SEBI AIF Regulations
IFSCA / GIFT City regulatory frameworks
Working understanding of:
Fund accounting, NAV, investor reporting
Compliance and regulatory filings
Exposure to fintech platforms, registrars, or fund administration technology solutions preferred

Skills & Leadership Capabilities
Solid commercial acumen and revenue orientation
Proven ability to engage and influence Founders, CIOs, CEOs, and CXO stakeholders
Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
Ability to convert complex regulatory and product constructs into business value propositions
High strategic thinking with execution rigor
Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional leadership
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment

Education
MBA (Finance), CA, CFA, CAIA or equivalent
Strong preference for candidates with capital markets / alternatives specialization
