Performs scheduled maintenance and preventative repairs on all electrical systems, equipment, and machinery.
The person hired in this position will also review maintenance schedules and adjust them as necessary to keep systems functioning at peak levels.
Maintenance engineers undertake scheduled and breakdown maintenance of engineering equipment. Maintenance engineers ensure that industrial machinery and equipment runs smoothly and reliably. You may be called out to deal with a breakdown or inspect equipment as part of a maintenance schedule.
Mechanical engineers design power-producing machines, such as electric generators, internal combustion engines, and steam and gas turbines, as well as power-using machines, such as refrigeration and air-conditioning systems. Mechanical engineers design other machines inside buildings, such as elevators and escalators.
