About the Role:
The AI Governance Specialist is a senior individual contributor responsible for designing and operationalizing core components of Carrier's enterprise AI governance program. This role leads risk evaluation of AI tools and use cases, develops governance frameworks and standard work, and serves as a subject matter expert to the AI Review Board (AIRB)



and cross-functional stakeholders across legal, cybersecurity, product security, and business units. The Specialist operates with significant autonomy — owning workstreams end-to-end, shaping program maturity, and advising leadership on governance posture and remediation strategy. This role is well-suited for a practitioner with deep expertise in AI risk, technology governance, or regulatory compliance who is ready to build capability in a first-mover governance function.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead end-to-end risk evaluations of AI tools and use cases, applying risk tiers and producing defensible recommendation memos for AIRB consideration Design and maintain governance frameworks, including the AI Risk and Control Matrix, RACI structures, and AIRB operating procedures (SLAs, voting protocols, escalation paths) Develop standard work for the AI tools approval process including intake requirements, review criteria, and conditional appr
