Purpose -

The Data Platform Administrator will be responsible for managing and optimizing enterprise database systems and building scalable data infrastructure to support digital platforms and operational systems. This role focuses on ensuring database reliability, performance, and security while implementing modern data architectures to enable faster analytics and operational insights.

Roles and Responsibilties -

1. Database Management : Installation, configuration, maintenance, and performance optimization of all databases (e.g., SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle) in the organization.
2. Data Warehouse Maintenance & Update : Update and maintain data warehouse infrastructure, including data ingestion, storage, and retrieval mechanisms
3. Scripting and Automation : Develop and maintain scripts to automate repetitive tasks, such as backups, data extraction, and system monitoring
4. Stakeholder Collaboration: Engage with business units and internal teams to understand their data-related needs and requirements, and translate them into practical database solutions.

Database Performance Monitoring: Regularly monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement necessary optimizations to ensure optimal system response. Analyse queries and execution plans to improve database performance. Design and maintain indexing strategies and optimize database structures.
6. Rollout and Implementation: Oversee the smooth rollout of recent features and updates, ensuring minimal disruptions to operations. Communicate effectively with relevant stakeholders, including end-users, during the rollout process.
7. Security and Compliance: Implement security protocols and access controls to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations. Implement role-based access control and manage database permissions.
