We are seeking an experienced Essbase Techno Functional Lead / Manager to lead the delivery and support of enterprise Oracle Essbase applications supporting critical finance, budgeting, planning, and reporting processes. The successful candidate will combine deep functional and technical expertise in Oracle Essbase with strong service management and ITIL experience, while leading a team of support professionals to deliver high quality managed services.

The role serves as the primary interface between business stakeholders and delivery teams, ensuring service excellence, operational stability, continuous improvement, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

1. Service Delivery & Operations
. Own end to end service delivery for Oracle Essbase applications, ensuring compliance with agreed SLAs, KPIs, and operational targets.
. Act as the primary point of contact for business stakeholders and operational teams.
. Lead Incident, Problem, Change, Release, Request, and Knowledge Management activities in accordance with ITIL best practices.
. Drive operational governance through regular service reviews, KPI reporting, risk management, and continual service improvement initiatives.
. Ensure high service availability, performance, and customer satisfaction.
. Coordinate with technical, functional, infrastructure, and business teams to resolve complex production issues.
. Manage service transitions, release planning, and production deployments.

2. Team Leadership
. Lead, mentor, and develop a support and delivery team of 10 or more members.
. Manage resource planning, workload allocation, capacity planning, and team performance.
. Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement,



and knowledge sharing.
. Support hiring, coaching, performance management, and career development of team members.

3. Stakeholder & Business Management
. Build robust relationships with finance users, business stakeholders, and client leadership.
. Understand business requirements and translate them into effective functional and technical solutions.
. Conduct regular service reviews and present operational performance, risks, and improvement plans.
. Support business users during budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting cycles.

Oracle Essbase Technical & Functional Responsibilities
1. Business & Functional Expertise
. Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, consolidation, and management reporting processes.
. Solid knowledge of cost allocation methodologies and financial planning concepts.
. Ability to analyse data using Smart View Ad Hoc queries to identify and troubleshoot business issues and data discrepancies.
. Support business users throughout budgeting and reporting activities.

2. Oracle Essbase Technical Expertise
. Design, develop, administer and support Oracle Essbase 21C applications and cubes.
. Design and maintain multidimensional data models.
. Administer outlines using the Web Interface and Cube Designer in Smart View.
. Create and maintain dimension build rules.
. Develop and execute data load rules.
. Manage substitution variables and runtime prompts.
. Develop calculation scripts including:
o Aggregation
o Data clearing
o Scenario initialization
o Scenario data copy
o Member formulas
o Complex business calculations
o Cost allocation logic
. Administer application security.
. Troubleshoot performance issues and optimize Essbase applications.

Continuous Improvement
. Identify opportunities for automation, standardization and operational efficiency.
. Drive root cause analysis and preventive actions for recurring issues.
. Contribute to service improvement initiatives and technology roadmap discussions.
. Lead or support training sessions for finance users and stakeholders on Oracle Essbase and related solutions.

Mandatory Skills & Experience
. Strong Oracle Essbase technical and functional expertise (mandatory).
. Minimum 8–12 years of overall IT experience, including significant experience supporting Oracle Essbase applications.
. Proven experience leading Application Managed Services (AMS) or Production Support engagements.
. Experience managing a service delivery or support team of at least 10 members.
. Strong practical knowledge of ITIL processes, including Incident, Problem, Change, Request, Knowledge, and Service Level Management.
. Experience working directly with business stakeholders and senior leadership.
. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
. Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications
. ITIL Foundation or higher certification.
. Experience with Oracle Hyperion EPM suite.
. Experience with Smart View and financial planning/reporting solutions.
. Experience working in Agile and DevOps delivery environments.
. Exposure to automation, scripting, or monitoring tools.
. Experience supporting large enterprise or global managed service environments.
. Experience within the Energy & Utilities domain is desirable.
