Role & responsibilities

- Lead end-to-end formulation development from concept to commercialization across skin care, hair care, hair color, personal care, and color cosmetics categories at Yushka Cosmetics
- Develop new product formulations from scratch based on Yushka's brand vision, market positioning, and consumer requirements
- Independently handle the entire R&D; function including ingredient research, raw material evaluation, compatibility testing, and stability studies
- Improve and optimize existing Yushka formulations for better performance, quality, and cost efficiency
- Manage product trials, pilot batches, validation, and scale-up processes with minimal supervision
- Ensure smooth transition of formulations from lab scale to commercial production in coordination with the manufacturing team
- Support packaging compatibility testing and product claim validation for Yushka's product launches
- Ensure all formulations meet safety, quality, GMP, and regulatory standards applicable to cosmetic products in India
- Work closely with sourcing, production, QA/QC, and regulatory teams for successful and timely product execution
- Build and maintain proper R&D; documentation, formulation records, and development timelines
- Monitor market trends, competitor products, and new ingredient innovations to keep Yushka's portfolio relevant and competitive
- Drive Yushka's product innovation roadmap and support the brand's growth through strong technical and formulation capabilities
- Take ownership of the R&D; function and contribute directly to building Yushka's product pipeline from the ground up





Preferred candidate profile

- 6 to 12 years of hands-on experience in cosmetic and personal care formulation development with strong category knowledge
- Must have prior experience in creating formulations from scratch across skin care, hair care, hair color, personal care, and/or color cosmetics categories
- Experience working with a beauty, cosmetics, FMCG, or personal care manufacturing company is strongly preferred
- Should be comfortable working independently in a startup environment with complete ownership of the R&D; function
- Robust practical knowledge of ingredients, actives, stability, compatibility, and formulation science is a must
- Candidates with exposure to multiple categories such as skin care, hair care, hair color, and color cosmetics will be preferred over single-category specialists
- Prior experience in taking products from formulation stage through commercialization and market launch is essential
- Should have working knowledge of GMP, quality standards, and cosmetic regulatory requirements applicable in India
- A problem-solving and innovation-driven mindset with the ability to balance creativity with manufacturing feasibility and scalability
- Must be based in Ahmedabad or willing to relocate this is a full-time, on-site role
- Candidates who have worked in small or mid-size cosmetic companies and are comfortable with a rapid-paced, hands-on work culture will be a strong fit
- This is a founding R&D; role — ideal for someone who wants to build something from the ground up and grow with the brand
