CAD Manager Diamond Studded Jewelry (India Business)

Role Purpose

The CAD Manager will lead the CAD Design CAD team of India Business, ensuring the creation of high-quality, production-feasible, and aesthetically superior jewelry designs. The role is responsible for driving CAD productivity, maintaining World Best Quality (WBQ) standards, developing technical excellence within the team, and ensuring timely delivery of CAD outputs aligned with business requirements.

Key Responsibilities

CAD Design & Technical Excellence

- Lead the development of CAD designs for diamond-studded jewelry across rings, earrings, pendants, bracelets, bangles, and necklaces.
- Ensure all CAD files meet WBQ (World Best Quality) standards, manufacturing feasibility, and client specifications.
- Review and approve CAD outputs for design accuracy, stone setting feasibility, metal weight optimization, and production readiness.
- Drive continuous improvement in CAD design standards, workflows, and best practices.
- Ensure engineering precision in all CAD models with a strong focus on dimensions, tolerances, symmetry, and structural integrity.

Team Management & Productivity

- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of CAD Designers and Senior CAD Designers.
- Establish productivity benchmarks and monitor daily, weekly, and monthly CAD output.
- Allocate work effectively to optimize turnaround time and resource utilization.
- Conduct regular quality reviews, coaching sessions, and skill enhancement programs.
- Build a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous learning within the CAD team.

Quality & WBQ Standards





- Drive adherence to World Best Quality (WBQ) parameters across all CAD outputs.
- Ensure consistency in design standards, setting quality, durability, and manufacturability.
- Reduce CAD rework through robust review mechanisms and first-time-right practices.
- Partner with Production, Product Development, Merchandising, and Quality teams to improve overall product quality.

Process Improvement & Innovation

- Identify opportunities for automation, standardization, and process optimization.
- Develop and maintain CAD libraries, design templates, and technical standards.
- Support recent product development initiatives and innovative design concepts.
- Track and improve key metrics such as CAD productivity, CAD TAT, First Time Approval (FTA), and rework percentage.

Cross-Functional Coordination

- Collaborate with Product Development, Manufacturing, Merchandising, and Sales teams to ensure timely execution of projects.
- Support resolution of technical issues related to design feasibility and production challenges.
- Participate in design reviews and customer-specific development projects.

Educational Qualification

- Bachelors Degree / Diploma in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, Industrial Design, or related technical discipline.
- Certification in Rhino, Matrix, MatrixGold, or relevant CAD software preferred.

Experience

- 10 15 years of experience in CAD Design within the Diamond Studded Jewelry Industry.
- Minimum 5 years of experience managing and leading CAD teams.
- Strong background in engineering drawing and technical design principles.
- Experience in high-volume jewelry manufacturing environments.

Technical Skills

- Expert proficiency in Rhino, Matrix/MatrixGold, and jewelry CAD software.
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings, dimensions, tolerances, and manufacturing processes.
- Advanced knowledge of diamond setting techniques, metal behavior, casting requirements, and production feasibility.
- Expertise in World Best Quality (WBQ) standards and quality-driven design practices.
- Knowledge of CAM, 3D printing, prototyping, and jewelry manufacturing processes will be an advantage.
