Role & responsibilities

1. IT Asset Lifecycle Management

- Manage end-to-end lifecycle of IT assets:
- Procurement Deployment Tracking Maintenance Disposal

- Maintain a centralized asset repository (CMDB/ITAM tool) with high data accuracy
- Track assets across distributed environments (stores, warehouses, HO, cloud)

2. Hardware Asset Management (HAM)

- Track and manage:
- End-user devices (POS, laptops,handhelds, kiosks)
- Infrastructure (servers, network devices, storage)
- Warehouse automation IT components (RF devices, controllers, etc.)

- Ensure asset tagging, stock reconciliation, and periodic audits
- Monitor asset utilization and refresh cycles

3. Software Asset Management (SAM)

- Manage software licenses across enterprise applications:
- SAP, POS systems, cloud platforms, productivity tools, etc.

- Ensure compliance with licensing agreements and audits
- Optimize license usage and reduce under/over-utilization
- Track SaaS subscriptions and renewals

4. Governance, Compliance & Audit

- Establish and enforce IT asset governance policies
- Ensure readiness for internal and external audits
- Maintain compliance with vendor licensing terms and regulatory requirements
- Drive standardization of asset processes across locations

5. Financial & Cost Optimization

- Work closely with procurement and finance teams on:
- Budgeting and forecasting of IT assets
- Cost optimization through rationalization and reuse

- Track TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) of assets
- Identify opportunities for cost savings (license optimization, asset reuse, vendor negotiation inputs)

6. Tools & Automation





- Drive adoption and usage of ITAM/SAM tools (e.g., ServiceNow ITAM, Snow, Flexera, etc.)
- Automate asset discovery, tracking, and reporting
- Integrate asset systems with procurement, finance, and service management tools

7. Vendor & Stakeholder Management

- Work with OEMs, vendors, and partners for asset procurement and lifecycle support
- Collaborate with internal IT teams (infra, security, applications)
- Act as a bridge between IT, finance, procurement, and audit teams

8. Reporting & Insights

- Publish regular dashboards and reports:
- Asset inventory & accuracy
- License compliance & utilization
- Asset aging & refresh status

- Provide insights to leadership for decision-making

Required Skills & Experience

Core Expertise

- Robust experience in IT Asset Management (HAM + SAM)
- Proven experience managing assets in large, distributed environments
- Good understanding of IT infrastructure, end-user computing, and enterprise applications

Tools & Technology

- Experience with ITAM/SAM tools (e.g., ServiceNow ITAM, Flexera, Snow, ManageEngine)
- Familiarity with CMDB concepts and integration with ITSM tools
- Exposure to cloud asset management (Azure, AWS, SaaS tools)

Licensing Knowledge

- Strong understanding of software licensing models:
- Subscription, perpetual, user-based, consumption-based

- Experience handling vendor audits (SAP, Microsoft, Adobe, etc.)

Financial Acumen

- Understanding of IT budgeting, asset depreciation, and cost tracking
- Ability to work with finance teams on asset capitalization and expense tracking
