We are seeking a UX/UI Designer with strong hands-on expertise in Figma, Canva, and design systems, who can elevate existing assets and thoughtfully extend our product experience across mobile and web platforms. This role is critical to ensuring elegance, simplicity, and usability in a data-dense healthcare environment.

Role Overview

As a UX/UI Designer at Heald, you will work closely with product, engineering, and clinical teams to design intuitive, visually refined experiences for:

- Heald Mobile App (iOS & Android)
- Heald Patient & Care Team Portal (Web)

Many core flows already exist. Your role will involve refinement, extension, and systemization with openness to re-thinking flows where compelling, user-centered improvements are proposed.

Key Responsibilities

- Refine and extend existing UX/UI assets for the Heald mobile app and patient portal.
- Design high-fidelity screens, flows, wireframes, and interactive prototypes using Figma (primary) and Canva (secondary).
- Translate complex health and patient data (glucose trends, habits, engagement metrics, insights) into clear, human-friendly visual experiences.
- Create and maintain design systems, components, and reusable patterns for consistency and scalability.
- Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and clinicians to align design decisions with real-world usage and constraints.
- Improve usability across onboarding, dashboards, insights, nudges, and progress views.
- Conduct lightweight usability validation (heuristics, walkthroughs, feedback loops).
- Prepare clean,

developer-ready handoffs with explicit annotations and interaction guidance.
- Ensure designs meet accessibility, readability, and mobile responsiveness standards.

Skills & Qualifications

- 4+ years of UX/UI design experience, with a strong portfolio showcasing mobile and web work.
- Expert proficiency in Figma (auto-layout, components, variants, prototyping).
- Comfortable using Canva for quick iteration, communication assets, and visual storytelling.
- Demonstrated ability to design for data-heavy products while maintaining clarity and simplicity.
- Proven portfolio samples that highlight:
- Elegance
- Simplicity
- Usability
- Thoughtful information hierarchy

- Experience designing for D2C digital health, wellness, or fitness platforms
(not traditional EHRs like Epic or Cerner).
- Familiarity with healthcare or behavior-change products in the US or Indian market is a strong plus.
- Strong grasp of mobile-first design principles and responsive web layouts.
- Ability to take existing designs and improve without ego, while confidently proposing better alternatives when warranted.
- Excellent communication skills and comfort working asynchronously.
- A genuine interest in health, wellness, and lifestyle science.

Nice to Have

- Experience designing dashboards or analytics-driven interfaces.
- Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG).
- Prior work with product-led growth, nudges, or habit-forming interfaces.
- Understanding of design handoff best practices for React / React Native teams.
