Role & responsibilities

Server & Virtualisation Management

- Manage and maintain Microsoft Hyper-V environments.
- Administer physical servers (installation, configuration, patching, performance tuning).
- Handle VM provisioning, migration, replication, and backup.
- Ensure high availability and disaster recovery readiness.

Windows & Active Directory Administration

- Manage Windows Server (2016/2019/2022).
- Administer Active Directory, Group Policies (GPO), DNS, DHCP.
- Implement security hardening and access control policies.
- Manage patching and update compliance.

Database Management

- Install, configure, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server.
- Monitor database performance, backups, and recovery.
- Optimise queries and manage database security.
- Ensure high availability (Always On / clustering).

Network Infrastructure Management

- Configure and manage Cisco L2 & L3 switches.
- Handle VLANs, routing, STP, trunking, and network segmentation.
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot latency/issues.
- Maintain network documentation and diagrams.

Firewall & Security Management

- Administer Fortinet firewalls.
- Configure VPNs (site-to-site & remote access).
- Implement firewall policies, IPS, antivirus, and web filtering.
- Conduct security audits and vulnerability assessments.

Storage & Backup Management

- Manage Synology NAS storage systems.
- Configure RAID, storage pools, snapshots, and replication.
- Implement and monitor backup strategies (onsite/offsite).
- Ensure data integrity and quick restoration capability.





Monitoring & Incident Management

- Lead L3-level troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
- Handle escalations from L1/L2 teams.
- Implement proactive monitoring tools.
- Prepare RCA reports and preventive action plans.

Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity

- Design and test DR strategies.
- Ensure RTO/RPO objectives are met.
- Maintain DR documentation and conduct drills.

Compliance & Documentation

- Maintain system documentation, SOPs, and network diagrams.
- Ensure compliance with IT policies and audit requirements.
- Participate in internal/external audits

Preferred candidate profile

Experience: 5-9 years of relevant experience as a System administrator.

- Education: B.E./B.Tech or MCA in Computer Science / IT (preferred).
- Certifications (preferred): Microsoft Certified: Windows Server, Hyper-V, SQL Server, CCNA, Fortinet NSE, or equivalent.

Mandatory Technical Skills

- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Hyper-V, Windows Server, and Active Directory.
- Expertise in Microsoft SQL Server administration.
- Valuable experience with Cisco Switches and Fortinet Firewalls.
- Proficient in Synology NAS storage and backup management.
- Solid understanding of networking concepts (VLAN, Routing, VPN, etc.).

Desired Skills

- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and documentation abilities.
- Ability to work independently and handle high-pressure situations.
- Experience in manufacturing or similar industry will be an advantage.
