1. Product Development End to End • Own the complete solar inverter development lifecycle: requirement definition, product architecture, design, prototyping, validation, pilot run, and mass-production launch. • Cover the full range string, central and hybrid inverters, on-grid and off-grid/hybrid systems. • Act as project manager for every solar inverter NPD program: timelines, budget, resourcing and risk, reporting status directly to the MD/Engineering Head.
2. Technical & Domain Ownership • Hold direct technical command of solar inverter power electronics: topology selection (HF/LF transformer-based and transformerless), power stage design (IGBT/MOSFET), magnetics and thermal management. • Design and tune MPPT algorithms, grid synchronization, anti-islanding protection and hybrid battery-interface control. • Own embedded hardware and firmware architecture (microcontroller/DSP platforms such as TI C2000, STM32 or equivalent) and review firmware-hardware integration. • Ensure designs meet IEC 62109 / IEC 61683, CEA regulations, BIS and ALMM requirements.
3. Supplier Development & Indigenization (China India) • Identify, evaluate and qualify Indian suppliers to replace components/sub-assemblies currently imported from China, with a documented indigenization roadmap and milestones. • Manage technology transfer and design localization from Chinese OEM/ODM/technology partners where applicable. • Build a dual-source strategy for critical components to de-risk the supply chain; own supplier PPAP/qualification signoff jointly with Procurement and Quality.

Cost & Value Engineering • Own the BOM cost-down roadmap for each solar inverter product; run structured value-engineering exercises with Procurement and suppliers. • Balance cost reduction against reliability, safety and certification requirements no cost change ships without engineering sign-off.
5. Productionization & Manufacturing Support • Lead Design-for-Manufacturing (DFM) and Design-for-Assembly (DFA) reviews ahead of every production handover. • Support pilot-line ramp-up, yield improvement and process FMEA with Manufacturing; resolve production-floor engineering issues in real time.
6. Service Vertical Leadership & Training • Act as the technical vertical lead for the after-sales service organization on solar inverters: build and deliver a structured troubleshooting/repair training curriculum. • Certify field/service engineers to a defined competency standard; close the loop from field failure data back into design improvements (RCA design change).
7. Team & Vertical Leadership • Build and lead a solar inverter engineering pod (hardware, firmware, test) with explicit ownership and accountability. • Mentor engineers, build a succession bench,
and represent the solar vertical in cross-functional and leadership reviews.
8. Cross-Functional Collaboration • Procurement supplier development and component sourcing strategy. • Manufacturing industrialization, DFM/DFA, yield and cost. • Quality reliability, certification and field-failure RCA. • Sales & Projects customer-specific technical requirements and bids. • Service training curriculum and field-issue resolution. • Software/Firmware Engineering monitoring, connectivity and firmware integration.
9. Documentation, Compliance & Certification • Maintain engineering documentation, BOM and ECN records to Servotech's document control standards. • Coordinate with certification agencies and test labs for BIS, ALMM and IEC product certification. Role & responsibilities
Preferred candidate profile
B.E./B.Tech in Electrical, Electronics, Power Electronics or a related discipline; M.Tech (Power Electronics) preferred but not mandatory. • 1020 years of experience in power electronics / solar inverter product development, including at least 45 years in a lead or managerial capacity.
Proven hands-on experience designing grid-tied and hybrid solar inverters not purely a program-management background. • Demonstrated experience developing/qualifying suppliers in China and transitioning sourcing to India (indigenization track record required, not just exposure). • Working knowledge of solar/inverter certification requirements — BIS, ALMM, IEC 62109/61683, CEA regulations
