Job Summary

Swaniti Initiative is seeking a Graphic Designer to create visually compelling communication materials that effectively convey our work in governance, public policy, and climate action. The role will primarily focus on designing high-quality reports, publications, and knowledge products while also supporting digital communication through social media and event creatives. A smaller portion of the role will involve basic video editing for storytelling and digital campaigns.

The ideal candidate should have a strong eye for layout design, typography, branding, and visual storytelling, with the ability to present complex information in a clear and engaging manner.

Key Responsibilities

Report & Publication Design (Approx. 50%)

- Design and format reports, policy briefs, research publications, presentations, case studies, and other knowledge products.
- Create visually appealing layouts, infographics, charts, icons, and data visualizations to simplify complex information.
- Ensure consistency in branding, typography, and formatting across all publications.
- Work closely with program and communications teams to translate technical content into engaging visual outputs.

Social Media & Event Creatives (Approx. 40%)

- Design creatives for social media platforms, digital campaigns, awareness initiatives, and organizational announcements.
- Develop branding materials for events, workshops, conferences, and campaigns, including banners, standees, invitations, backdrops, and promotional collateral.
- Maintain consistency with Swanitis visual identity across all communication materials.
- Stay updated on design trends and create fresh, engaging visual content.





Video Editing (Approx. 10%)

- Edit short-form videos, reels, and event highlights for social media and internal communications.
- Support basic motion graphics and simple animations when required.
- Assist in organizing multimedia assets for communication campaigns.

Key Skills Required

- Strong proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Microsoft PowerPoint.
- Working knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro; experience with After Effects is an added advantage.
- Excellent understanding of layout design, typography, color theory, and visual hierarchy.
- Experience designing reports, annual reports, policy documents, research publications, or similar long-form documents.
- Ability to visualize information-heavy content through infographics and data visualization.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple design projects simultaneously.
- Valuable communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience working in the development, public policy, climate, or social impact sector is preferred.

Educational Qualification

- Bachelors degree in Graphic Design, Multimedia, Fine Arts, Visual Communication, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- 24 years of professional experience in graphic design, with a solid portfolio showcasing report/publication design, branding, and digital creatives.
- Experience in report or publication design will be highly preferred.
