Job Title: QA Engineer

enGen Global is seeking a dedicated and experienced QA Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be instrumental in establishing and maintaining robust quality assurance processes for a critical, long-standing web application that has not previously undergone formal QA. This is an exciting opportunity to define best practices, implement comprehensive testing strategies, and contribute significantly to the reliability and quality of our software.

Essential Responsibilities:

- Collaborate closely with software engineers, product analysts, and other stakeholders to thoroughly understand requirements for current or enhanced features.
- Analyze requirement documents to design and implement comprehensive test strategies, test plans, test scenarios, test cases, and test scripts, ensuring adherence to established standards.
- Acquire, manipulate, or create all necessary test data required for effective software quality assurance activities.
- Document software defects accurately using a bug tracking system and effectively report these defects to the Software Development team for resolution.
- Perform peer reviews of testing artifacts, providing constructive feedback to ensure quality and consistency.
- Participate in release activities as needed to ensure successful, high-quality product updates and deployments.
- As an active member of an agile work team, participate in all scrum ceremonies, assist in sprint planning, and complete required sprint tasks through the development and final execution of software applications/programs.




- Proactively communicate any issues or blockers to the Scrum Master in a timely manner.
- Contribute to story creation by defining the Definition of Done (DoD), Acceptance Criteria, and estimating effort. Create tasks for assigned stories in the Agile tool and diligently update their status and assignments.
- Maintain and update Regression Test Suites on a regular basis to ensure ongoing test effectiveness.
- Demonstrate the ability to perform QA for multiple products concurrently, managing priorities and timelines effectively.

Required Skills:

- 4-5 years of direct experience in Software Testing roles.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate technical details clearly to diverse audiences.
- Proven expertise in Database Testing, including the ability to write and execute complex SQL queries for data validation and manipulation.
- Expertise in API Testing using tools such as Postman.
- Demonstrated expertise across various testing types, including Functional Testing, UI Testing, Integration Testing, Negative Testing, Database Testing, and Regression Testing.
- Solid expertise in Agile Methodologies and hands-on experience utilizing an Agile tool (e.g., Jira, Agility etc.).

Good to Have Skills:

- Hands-on experience with the execution of test automation code as part of ongoing regression testing standards.
- Conceptual knowledge of Cloud Platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Hands-on experience working on Performance Testing tool (e.g. JMeter, LoadRunner etc.)
