Job Description AGM / Senior Manager Purchase (Packing and Packaging Materials)
Industry: Pharmaceutical Manufacturing (Only Pharma Candidates)
Location: Panipat (Head Office)
Reporting To: Director
Experience: 15 to 25 years of relevant experience in a reputed Pharma Company
Age Preference: 40 to 45 years
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the procurement of Packing & Packaging Materials (PM) for pharmaceutical products.
- Source and purchase primary and secondary packaging materials such as bottles, caps, closures, cartons, labels, leaflets, corrugated boxes (shippers), foils, tubes, and other packaging components.
- Develop and manage a strong vendor base to ensure quality, cost competitiveness, and timely deliveries.
- Negotiate prices, contracts, and commercial terms with suppliers.
- Coordinate with Production, Planning, QA, QC, Packaging Development, and Stores for smooth material availability.
- Ensure procurement complies with GMP, regulatory, and quality requirements.
- Monitor inventory levels and optimize procurement costs without affecting production schedules.
- Drive cost-saving initiatives, alternate vendor development, and continuous process improvements.
- Lead, mentor,
and manage a team of 67 members.
- Prepare MIS reports and present procurement performance to the Director.
Desired Profile:
- Graduate/Postgraduate with relevant qualifications.
- 15–20 years of experience in Purchase of Packing as well as Packaging Materials in a pharmaceutical manufacturing company.
- Robust knowledge of pharmaceutical packaging materials, vendor development, strategic sourcing, commercial negotiations, and supply chain processes.
- Proven leadership experience in managing procurement teams.
- Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
