Qualification

- B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering

Experience

- 5–7 years of relevant experience in Indirect Procurement within Consumer Durable or Manufacturing industries.

Age

- 25–30 Years

Role Summary

We are looking for a energetic and result-oriented Executive – Purchase to manage indirect procurement activities, ensuring timely availability of materials and services while optimizing cost, quality, and vendor performance. The role requires strong sourcing capabilities, vendor management, commercial negotiation, and coordination with cross-functional teams to support manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities

Procurement & Sourcing

- Manage procurement of indirect materials including MRO items, machine spares, consumables, CAPEX items, machinery, and plant services.
- Handle procurement of non-production consumables and capital equipment.
- Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable vendors to ensure quality, timely delivery, and cost competitiveness.
- Negotiate commercial terms, pricing, contracts, and delivery schedules with suppliers.

Vendor Management

- Develop and maintain a robust vendor base.
- Conduct vendor performance evaluations based on quality, delivery, cost, and service parameters.
- Perform vendor audits and drive continuous quality improvement initiatives.
- Build long-term supplier relationships to ensure uninterrupted supply.

Purchase Planning & Coordination

- Coordinate with Production, Engineering, Maintenance, Stores, and other stakeholders for material planning and procurement.
- Ensure timely procurement of materials to support manufacturing schedules and project requirements.
- Monitor inventory levels and optimize procurement planning.

Cost Optimization

- Drive continuous cost reduction initiatives through strategic sourcing and value engineering.




- Analyze product costing and market trends to achieve commercial advantages.
- Identify alternate sources and cost-effective procurement solutions.

Process Improvement

- Streamline procurement processes to improve efficiency and compliance.
- Drive implementation of 5S, Kaizen, Kanban, and Poka-Yoke initiatives within the Purchase department.
- Ensure adherence to company procurement policies and best practices.

Systems & Compliance

- Work extensively on SAP MM Module for procurement transactions.
- Ensure compliance with GST regulations, taxation policies, and statutory procurement requirements.
- Maintain procurement documentation, purchase records, and MIS reports.

Ideal Candidate Profile

- B.E. Mechanical with 5–7 years of experience in indirect procurement.
- Strong exposure to MRO, CAPEX, machine spares, consumables, and plant services procurement.
- Hands-on experience in SAP MM and procurement process management.
- Proven expertise in vendor development, commercial negotiations, and cost optimization.
- Good understanding of GST, taxation, and statutory procurement compliance.
- Experience in implementing Lean initiatives such as 5S, Kaizen, Kanban, and Poka-Yoke.
