BACKGROUND

The Hans Foundation, established in 2009, is a Public Charitable Trust that works for the improvement of quality of life for underprivileged communities across India through Health, Education, Livelihood and Disability sector interventions. THF undertakes direct implementation of projects on the ground in addition to providing funding support to not-for-profit organisations in India through its donor RIST, USA. THF s Strategic planning focuses on key areas of its work with the aim of addressing the key issues of poverty alleviation, economic inequalities, and 360 impact on the quality of life through social development programs. THF s programs are majorly implemented in the most rural and under-developed areas in the country. Over the years, THF has expanded its charitable activities in collaboration with State and Central Governments, institutions, corporates, academia, and non-government organizations for sustainable interventions to achieve scale and economy. The interventions implemented by the foundation range from grass root level to national level programs.

About Project: Hans Learning Centre is a school for children from marginalized communities (NGO). We offer admission to children between the ages of 5 and 13, for classes KG to 5. We follow the NCERT curriculum and prepare children for NIOS exams, and/or admission to other mainstream schools.

JOB PURPOSE

Promote computer literacy among our students and any other individual who is keen to learn computers. You will be required to craft and present lessons, develop teaching material, and attend parent-teacher meetings. Computer teachers should also ensure that equipment remains in excellent working condition. To ensure success as a computer teacher, you should demonstrate flexibility and support as you help students to develop confidence in their computer skills.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

(Teaching Curriculum)

- Design and deliver structured, age-appropriate lessons from basics to intermediate level.
- Ensure every student achieves baseline literacy: switching on a computer, typing, file management, internet navigation, and basic software use.
- Adapt the same session for students with zero exposure and those with some prior knowledge.
- Develop hands-on exercises and small projects that make learning practical and engaging.
- Progress learning from hardware familiarity MS Office internet skills basic digital concepts.
- Ensure enrollment of the required number of students as agreed upon with the institution.

(Student Support)

- Create a patient, low-pressure environment where students arent afraid to ask "basic" questions.
- Identify students who are complete beginners and give them additional attention.
- Track each students progress and communicate with parents and staff regularly.

(Lab Management)

- Keep the lab clean, organised, and fully operational before every session.
- Enforce no-food/no-drink rules strictly.
- Perform routine checks and basic troubleshooting; coordinate with vendors for repairs.
- Maintain equipment inventory and report issues promptly.

(Assessment Communication)

- Conduct practical assessments, quizzes, and term projects.
- Maintain grading records and give constructive feedback.
- Attend parent-teacher meetings and share student updates clearly.

WHAT STUDENTS SHOULD BE ABLE TO DO (Learning Outcomes)

Foundational (Classes 6 8):

- Switch on/off a computer and navigate the desktop
- Use keyboard and mouse confidently
- Manage basic files and folders
- Open, use, and close applications
- Type and save a document

Intermediate (Classes 9 12 and beyond):





- Create documents, spreadsheets, and presentations in MS Office
- Use email and manage digital files professionally
- Research online safely and critically
- Understand basic digital safety and cloud tools

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS EXPERIENCE

- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
- B.Ed. or teaching certification is preferred but not mandatory.
- Functional / Technical Skills and Relevant Experience Other requirements (Behavioral, Language, Certifications etc.) Able to explain technical things in simple, everyday language.
- Teaching certification for the level at which you will be instructing.
- At least 2 years prior experience preferably with ages 12 18.
- Genuinely passionate about making every child digitally confident, not just the "smart" ones.
- Strong written and administrative skills.
- Nurturing, adaptable approach to instructing.
- Passionate about fostering computer literacy and academic excellence.
- In depth knowledge of MS OFFICE
- Organised, responsible, and takes ownership of both students and the lab.
- Freshers with strong subject knowledge and genuine passion for teaching young learners will also be considered.
- Experience in a school lab or training centre is a plus.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Comfortable with Windows OS and basic hardware/software troubleshooting.
- Familiar with internet tools and digital literacy concepts.
- Exposure to beginner coding (Scratch, basic Python) is a bonus, not a requirement.
