Job Objective:

n

To plan, supervise & deliver highest standard of physiotherapy services to patients. Maximizes a patient's functional independence through thorough assessment, treatment planning, treatment implementation and treatment evaluation & communicate assessment and treatment outcomes with the interdisciplinary team through documentation and team meetings.

Job Responsibilities:

1) Continuum of Care

n

- n
- Ascertain appropriate information regarding the present problemn
- Assess the patients current functional statusn
- Planning all treatment proceduresn
- Treatment implementationn
- Treatment evaluationn
- Ensures secure and effective discharge planning for all patientsn

2) Leadership and Management

n

- n
- Participates in continuing education to update skills and knowledge in order to provide optimum level of patient care and student supervision.n
- Ensures implementation of departmental policies and proceduresn
- Participates in Departmental and Organizational meetings, other meetings as requiredn
- Actively participate in team activitiesn
- Organizes and implement in-service training sessions for staff, the physiotherapy assistant and volunteersn
- Teaches appropriately and supervises physiotherapy students and provide regular feedback and documentation of the clinical placement requiredn

3) Information Management

n

- n
- Manages and maintains information relevant to physiotherapy servicesn
- Records accurate statistics within the last working day of each pay fortnight or as appropriaten
- Notes written in patients records according to Policy and Procedure manual within 24 hours of servicen




- Adheres to the policies for use of Information Technologyn
- Supervises the recording of statistics and documentation by the physiotherapy studentsn
- Providing home care program discharge instructionsn
- Documenting the patient details in register and entering the clinical notes in the HIS.n
- Communicating with Consultant regarding the progress of the patient if required.n

4) Safe Practice and Environment

- n
- Adheres to safe work practices as per departmental and Medicitys Health Policy and Proceduresn
- Teaches and maintains safe patient handling practices through skills training of relevant staff and carersn
- Be aware of safety/emergency procedures within the department and hospital. Attend annual fire safety & Emergency training, CPR, pool rescue and infection control in services.n
- Adheres to infection control policies & proceduresn
- Organizes appropriate maintenance of Physiotherapy equipment as requiredn
- Creates and maintain a work environment which is safe for staff, patients and visitorsn

5) Improving Performance

- n
- Pursues actively professional development and implements quality improvement practicesn
- Ensures continuous Quality Improvement through high quality work practicesn
- Assists in the implementation of department quality improvement activitiesn
- Active participation in professional ongoing education and review of current literaturen
- Participates in regular in-service educationn
- Participates in regular supervision sessions with direct clinical supervisorn
- Any other duties given by the Chairman- Institute of Neurosciencesn
