Job Type: Full-time

Location: Dehradun (in-office), with travel for funder meetings and eventsType: Full-timeHours: 10am–7pm core, Monday to Friday (senior role, flex expected for funder time zones and events)Reports to: Founder/CEO (with regular board exposure)Experience Level: 5-8 years in fundraising / development / resource mobilization at a non-profit, social enterprise, or comparable organisation — with at least 2-3 years in a function-building or leadership-adjacent roleCompensation: ₹15-22 LPA (anchored to demonstrated track record of money raised and the size of the network you bring)About CodeYogi FoundationCodeYogi Foundation teaches AI and coding skills to underserved students across India — mobile-first, in the student's own language, with an AI tutor on the phone already in their hand. No laptop, no English requirement, no teacher in the loop. We've reached 3+ lakh students across 9 states and 100+ districts, nearly half of them girls, with roughly 95% learning on a smartphone alone. We're a Section 8 non-profit, driven by impact, not profit. We bootstrapped for five years on the founder's own funding, began external fundraising in October 2025, and we're aiming for 10 lakh students by 2027.The RoleThat growth — from 2.95 lakh to 10 lakh students in 12-18 months — requires growing external funding by 5-8×, to ₹15-25 crore annually. That isn't going to happen on the founder's bandwidth and opportunistic CSR cheques. It requires someone who can build a real fundraising function and run it like a revenue org. We're hiring a Head of Fundraising to own the function:Strategy & Pipeline — multi-year fundraising plan; channel mix (CSR, foundations, government, HNI, retail); forecasting; pipeline ownershipDonor Cultivation & Closing — identify, cultivate, and close institutional and major gifts. Personally own the top of the pipeline.Reporting & Stewardship — on-time donor reports, renewal strategy, board-level updatesCompliance — CSR + Section 8 compliance; FCRA if/when foreign funding flowsExternal Voice — represent CodeYogi at funder meetings, sector convenings, board fundraising committee, and partner eventsThis is not a proposal-writing role (we have a writer for that). This is not a marketing or comms role. This is not a junior development associate role. This is the person who owns the revenue number — strategy through close. What You'll DoFundraising Strategy & Pipeline (35% of time)Build and own a 12-24 month fundraising strategy aligned with org goalsForecast revenue across channels with reasonable accuracyMaintain a researched, prioritised pipeline of 30+ active prospectsRun a weekly pipeline cadence with the founder and a monthly review with the boardDonor Cultivation & Closing (35% of time)Personally cultivate and close institutional gifts (CSR, foundations, government,

multilaterals)Drive cultivation cadence: cold lead → meeting → concept note → full proposal → close → steward → renewalCultivate HNI relationships for major gifts; partner with the founder where the founder is the right closerSteward existing donors through renewal cyclesReporting, Compliance & Stewardship (15% of time)Own donor reporting calendar and quality barEnsure CSR, Section 8, and (where applicable) FCRA compliancePrepare board fundraising memos and committee reviewsMaintain a clean CRM/tracker as the single source of truthTeam Leadership & Founder Partnership (15% of time)Manage the fundraising writer; set quality bar for proposals and reportsHire 1-2 additional team members within 12 months as neededPartner with the founder on positioning, board strategy, and major-gift conversationsCoach the broader team on fundraising literacy (program team understanding donor logic)What Success Looks LikeBy Month 6:Multi-year fundraising strategy approved by founder and boardResearched, prioritised pipeline of 30+ active prospects across channels₹3-5 crore closed or in late-stage commitment since you startedDonor stewardship rhythm running — reporting cadence, renewal calendar, board prospect reviewsWriter integrated and producing under your directionBy Month 12:On track to ₹15-25 crore for FY27 (or your revised target)3-5 major donor relationships (₹50 lakh+) actively cultivated; at least one renewed or expandedGovernment/multilateral exposure initiatedTeam grown by 1-2 hires under youBoard fundraising committee rhythm established Must-Have Skills & Experience1. Fundraising Strategy & Pipeline Ownership (5-8 years)Built or co-built a fundraising strategy with a multi-year revenue targetForecasts pipeline accurately across channels; knows cultivation lead timesHas personally closed institutional gifts — named funder + named amount. "Supported," "contributed to," or "was on the team that closed" doesn't meet the bar here. We will verify in references.Comfortable building trackers, pipeline reviews, and forecasting models 2. Donor Relationship Management & Closing (5-8 years)Cultivated funder relationships from cold lead to closed gift, with named funders and amountsMaintained multi-year donor relationships through renewal cyclesReads non-verbal signals in funder meetings and adjustsKnows when to push for the ask and when to holdWrites excellent post-meeting follow-up notesNice-to-Have Skills (Bonus,

Not Required)Persuasive writing — you'll still write occasionally for highest-leverage funders, board memos, founder briefingsFCRA & compliance knowledge — for foreign funding (Gates, USAID, GIZ, Omidyar)Government / multilateral experience — cracking a NITI Aayog, MeitY, MSDE, or state-government grantTeam management — prior management of any team sizeHindi communication — for state-government and regional CSR conversationsNetwork in education / skilling / digital inclusion funder space — shortens cultivation cycles meaningfullyBoard-level comfort — prior board-facing experience (any sector)Who You Are (Foundational Qualities)We hire for character first, skills second. These 8 qualities are non-negotiable for everyone at CodeYogi — and at the Head of Fundraising level, several carry extra weight because you're the org's external face:Mission Alignment — funders fund belief; your belief is itself an asset of the orgOwnership — you own the revenue number, not the activity logResourcefulness — you build the function with the budget there isEmpathy — you adapt the case across CSR head, program officer, government secretary, HNIIntegrity (NON-NEGOTIABLE) — at this level, integrity failures aren't recoverable; you report the real number, you use "committed" precisely, you never inflate impactCommunication & Collaboration — you run rhythms with founder, board, finance, programs, and your teamAdaptability — you pivot when a major donor delays, a government window opens, or the board needs a review by TuesdayExcellence — a wrong number in a deck or a misspelled funder name is institutional, not personal — and at your level, it's on youTo be clear: you must demonstrate strength in ALL 8 to receive an offer. We don't compromise on culture fit, and we won't compromise on integrity for revenue potential. What We're NOT Looking ForStrategy consultant without execution — frameworks fluent, no personal closesCareer proposal writer at a senior salary — strong writer, weak on strategy, weaker on relationshipsCSR-only specialist — only knows one channel; can't think across foundation/government/HNIFounder-dependent operator — only successful when the founder is in the room"Marketing-adjacent" fundraiser — confuses fundraising with brand and event ROISenior-but-disorganised — has the network, can't run a clean pipeline; trackers stale; deadlines slipEmbellisher — uses "committed" loosely; rounds up donor numbers; inflates impact in their own past decksEqual OpportunityCodeYogi Foundation is an equal chance employer committed to diversity and inclusion. We especially welcome applicants who have personally experienced the barriers our students face. How to ApplyFill out the application form: https://forms.gle/1mw7MSbxsqUDrZZb7Contact UsEmail: [email protected] Website: www.codeyogi.org
