About the Role

We are looking for a creative and detail-oriented Modular Furniture Designer to design functional, aesthetically appealing, and cost-effective modular furniture solutions for residential, commercial, retail, and institutional projects. The candidate should have solid technical knowledge of modular furniture systems, material specifications, production drawings, and coordination with manufacturing and execution teams.

Key Responsibilities

- Design modular furniture including wardrobes, kitchens, TV units, workstations, storage units, reception counters, office furniture, and custom furniture solutions.
- Develop innovative space planning and furniture layouts based on client requirements.
- Prepare detailed 2D working drawings and 3D presentations.
- Generate production/shop drawings with accurate dimensions and material specifications.
- Prepare BOQ (Bill of Quantities), cutting lists, and hardware specifications.
- Coordinate with clients, architects, project managers, and execution teams for design approvals.
- Conduct site measurements and ensure design feasibility before production.
- Coordinate with factory/manufacturing teams for production planning.
- Resolve design and production-related issues during project execution.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards, ergonomics, safety, and functionality.
- Optimize material utilization to minimize wastage and improve project profitability.
- Stay updated with the latest trends in modular furniture, materials, hardware, and manufacturing technologies.
- Support procurement by recommending suitable materials, laminates, veneers, hardware, and accessories.
- Ensure timely submission of drawings and project documentation.





Required Skills

- Strong knowledge of modular furniture design principles.
- Expertise in kitchen, wardrobe, office, and residential furniture design.
- Knowledge of plywood, MDF, HDHMR, particle board, laminates, veneers, acrylic, membrane finishes, and edge banding.
- Understanding of modular hardware such as hinges, channels, lift-up systems, sliding systems, and accessories.
- Good understanding of manufacturing processes and installation techniques.
- Excellent visualization, detailing, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and coordination abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Educational Qualification

- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Interior Design, Furniture Design, Architecture, Civil Engineering, or a related field.

Preferred Experience

- 3–6 years of experience in modular furniture design.
- Experience in residential, commercial, office interiors, and custom furniture projects.
- Experience working with furniture manufacturing units or interior fit-out companies is preferred.
