Data Scientist and Instructor

Job Description:

At NxtWave, we are looking for a passionate and industry-oriented Data Scientist and Instructor to lead the design of high-quality assessments and learning experiences for our Data Science, Machine Learning, and AI programs.

The role focuses on creating industry-aligned evaluation content that reflects real-world hiring expectations and technical interview standards. You will work closely with curriculum teams, SMEs, and product stakeholders to build practical, engaging, and outcome-driven assessments that improve learner readiness and employability.

This role is ideal for someone who combines strong technical expertise in AI/ML with a deep understanding of teaching, assessment design, and industry trends.

Skills Required

- 14 years of experience in Data Science, Machine Learning, AI, or technical content development.
- Robust understanding of Machine Learning and Deep Learning concepts, including Neural Networks, CNNs, RNNs, LSTMs, Transformers, and Generative AI fundamentals.
- Proficiency in Python, SQL, and commonly used Data Science libraries/frameworks such as Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Keras.
- Hands-on experience working with real-world datasets and solving practical business problems.
- Strong understanding of technical interviews, assessment patterns, and industry hiring expectations in AI/ML roles.
- Ability to design coding challenges, case studies, project-based assessments, and conceptual evaluations.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical thinking, and content structuring skills.




- Ability to simplify complex technical concepts into learner-friendly content and assessments.
- Good communication and collaboration skills while working with cross-functional teams and SMEs.
- Passion for teaching, mentoring, and improving learner outcomes.

Responsibilities

- Design and develop industry-aligned assessments for Data Science, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and AI programs.
- Create coding challenges, MCQs, case studies, project-based tasks, and hands-on evaluations based on real-world hiring expectations.
- Analyze industry trends, job descriptions, and interview patterns to ensure assessment relevance and quality.
- Develop practical assessment scenarios using real-world datasets and business use cases.
- Collaborate with SMEs, curriculum teams, and instructors to maintain technical accuracy and learning effectiveness.
- Review, improve, and maintain assessment quality based on learner performance and feedback.
- Ensure assessments evaluate problem-solving ability, coding proficiency, analytical thinking, and model-building skills.
- Mentor and guide associate content developers within the technical pod.
- Support instructional activities such as technical sessions, workshops, and learner guidance when required.
- Work closely with product teams to improve learner engagement and assessment experience on the platform.
- Stay updated with emerging trends in AI, Data Science, and hiring ecosystems to continuously improve content quality.
