Key Responsibilities

- Oversee the planning of the curriculum content, ensuring it is well sequenced to promote pupil progress.
- Strong focus on improving student learning outcomes and academic results.
- Ability to identify gaps in academics and assessments and implement effective improvement strategies.
- Ensure new teachers are well-aligned with curriculum standards, teaching methodologies, and school expectations.
- Foster a solid sense of team cohesion and collaboration within the English Department by encouraging open communication, sharing of best practices, and collective problem-solving.
- Expertise in paper setting and review assessments and term end paper across all segments of the English Department to maintain quality and consistency.
- Strong coordination and leadership skills to maintain departmental efficiency and collaboration.
- Ensure the planned curriculum is effectively and consistently implemented across the school.
- Reviewing the quality of textbooks and material created by content team.




- Reviewing the corrected assessments of the teachers and providing them with appropriate feedback.
- Supporting, training and reviewing of teacher created learning material.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience

- Should have worked/working as HOD English.
- Educational Background: A masters degree in English or a related field, with recognized teaching qualifications (e.g., PGCE).
- Experience: Extensive teaching experience with Cambridge IGCSE, AS & A-Level English, and a strong understanding of Cambridge assessment criteria
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and manage a department, mentor teachers, and develop a high-quality curriculum.
- Pedagogical Expertise: Strong classroom management and teaching skills, with experience in assessment, feedback, and differentiation to meet diverse student needs Professional Development: Commitment to continuous learning and the ability to lead professional development within the department.
