About the Role

This is a unique opportunity to join SLMCON during an exciting phase of growth and play a foundational role in shaping our India office. Were looking for a resourceful, people-first Operations & People Specialist who loves building things from scratch.

As the Operations & People Specialist, you will serve as the central hub connecting people, culture, workplace operations, and talent initiatives. You will be responsible for creating a seamless employee experience while ensuring our office and people processes scale effectively as the business expands. You'll be the heartbeat of our India office part office manager, part HR coordinator, part culture champion. Youll keep the team running smoothly today while growing into deeper HR responsibilities (including employee relations) as we scale. What Youll Own

Office Operations & Workplace

- Own the day-to-day operations of the Hyderabad office, ensuring a professional, efficient, and engaging work environment
- Manage facilities, vendors, procurement, office supplies, equipment, maintenance, security, and workplace services
- Coordinate budgets, purchases, invoices, and vendor relationships related to office operations
- Act as the primary point of contact for visitors, deliveries, and office-related queries
- Support travel arrangements, team meetings, leadership visits, and company events
- Continuously improve workplace processes, efficiency, and overall employee experience

People & Culture Support

- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records, HR documentation, and HRIS systems (BambooHR, Zoho, Dayforce, ADP, etc.).
- Manage employee data, attendance, leave tracking, onboarding processes, and HR operations workflows
- Support HR compliance requirements and ensure adherence to applicable Indian labor laws and regulations
- Assist with policy development, process documentation, employee communications, and handbook updates
- Generate HR reports, workforce metrics/data, and people analytics to support decision-making
- Ensure HR processes are efficient, scalable, and aligned with organizational growth.

Talent Acquisition & Onboarding

- Partner with hiring managers to support full-cycle recruitment activities
- Coordinate job postings, candidate sourcing, interview scheduling, assessments, and background verification processes




- Manage candidate communications and ensure a positive candidate experience throughout the hiring process
- Support offer administration and pre-employment documentation
- Lead and continuously improve the onboarding experience from offer acceptance through the first 90 days
- Support new hires in integrating effectively into the team and organization

Culture, Engagement & Employee Experience

- Champion initiatives that foster a positive, inclusive, and high-performance culture
- Plan and coordinate employee engagement activities, wellness programs, recognition initiatives, and team events
- Support employee feedback programs, surveys, and action planning initiatives
- Strengthen communication and collaboration across globally distributed teams
- Act as a trusted and approachable resource for employees seeking guidance or support

Learning, Performance & Organizational Development

- Support performance management processes, goal-setting cycles, and talent review activities
- Coordinate training programs, professional development initiatives, and learning opportunities
- Assist leadership with workforce planning and organizational growth initiatives
- Contribute to employee development programs and succession planning efforts
- Support implementation of future HR technologies, systems, and process improvements

Within your first 12 months, you will:

- Establish efficient and scalable office operations that support a growing team.
- Deliver a best-in-class onboarding experience for all new hires.
- Improve employee engagement and workplace satisfaction initiatives.
- Maintain accurate and compliant people processes and documentation.
- Become a trusted partner to employees and leaders across the organization.
- Contribute to building a high-performing, connected, and values-driven culture.

What You Bring

- Fluent in English and Telugu (spoken and written).
- 3+ years of experience in a generalist, Operations Specialist or HR coordinator role, ideally in a consulting, logistics, or technology environment.




- Experience working with North Americabased teams is a big plus.
- Strong organizational skills, high attention to detail, and a commitment to confidentiality.
- Comfortable in fast-moving, ambiguous, startup-like environments.
- Experience with HRIS tools (BambooHR, Zoho, Dayforce, ADP, etc.).
- Self-starter comfortable in a quick-paced, growth-oriented setting.

Bonus Points

- Experience supporting cross-border teams.
- Background in consulting, logistics, or project-based environments.
- Prior experience helping set up or scale an office.
