Summary: Application Security Remediation Engineer with a robust software development background in .NET and Java to support enterprise web application security initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess hands-on experience reviewing application vulnerabilities, analyzing secure coding issues, implementing remediation solutions, and partnering with Application Leads and Development teams to improve the overall security posture of enterprise applications.

This role requires deep understanding of modern web application architectures, secure development practices, and application security across custom-developed and vendor-hosted applications.

Job Description:

- Analyze, prioritize, and remediate application security vulnerabilities across enterprise web applications developed using .NET, Java, and related technologies.
- Partner with Application Leads, Development teams, Security teams, and Solution Architects to review findings and implement secure remediation strategies.
- Review application source code, APIs, configurations, and application architecture to identify security weaknesses and recommend corrective actions.
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain application enhancements while adhering to secure coding standards and enterprise development best practices.
- Collaborate with Infrastructure, Middleware, Database, and Integration teams to support secure application deployments and production readiness.
- Troubleshoot complex application issues related to security, performance, stability, and application integrations.
- Support remediation activities across enterprise web applications, REST APIs, middleware services, and vendor-hosted SaaS applications.
- Participate in application security reviews, code reviews, design discussions,



and release planning to ensure security requirements are incorporated throughout the SDLC.
- Support DevSecOps initiatives by integrating secure development practices, automated security validation, and CI/CD pipeline improvements.
- Develop reusable secure coding patterns, remediation guidance, technical documentation, and implementation standards for development teams.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to resolve application vulnerabilities within established remediation timelines and enterprise security standards.
- Prepare technical documentation, implementation artifacts, root cause analysis, and operational documentation supporting remediation and production support activities.

Education:

BachelorMasters degree in computer science or related discipline preferred.

Required skills - 7 to 15 years of demonstrated experience of C, .NET/C#, SQL query construct using Oracle Database, Blazor for web forms, Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts, Web Services, and ability to participate in multiple projects at the same time.

Preferred Knowledge of Internet technologies like HTML, XML, WSDL, Scripting languages, knowledge of SDLC activities on development projects. Understanding of Cloud Technology and Solutions. Utility Industry knowledge

Certification Certification on Microsoft, Java, Web applications, HTML5, Cloud Solutions is an added plus.

Preferred Skills

- Hands-on experience reviewing and remediating vulnerabilities identified by application security assessment tools such as Checkmarx, Invicti, Burp Suite, Fortify, SonarQube, or similar.
- Strong understanding of OWASP Top 10, CWE, secure coding standards, input validation, authentication, authorization, session management, SQL Injection, Cross-Site Scripting (XSS), Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF), insecure deserialization, SSRF, and other common web application vulnerabilities.
- Experience supporting Agile, Scrum, and DevSecOps delivery models.
- Microsoft and Java certifications are an added advantage.
